    Guesses on peak gusts on the Ridge and Lone Peak Summit today? My guess: High....very high.

    Coral reef on a scale of 1 - 10 tomorrow? 11?
    Just checked lone peak. They're high, but not that high. Max gust was 58.

    Yeah, I'm kinda surprised. Some of the stations around Whitefish were getting into the 80's, and usually we're not that windy.

    Mount Sentinel in Missoula apparently hit 125 with a gust today. Been blowing hard all morning by the airport.

    CDA got pounded. SIL in San Juan Island has been without power since yesterday.

    I bet the front up north was a bit breezy.

    Super fun up there, no speed limit granular windbuff. Wish I made it to Slushee's.
    Tomorrow could be sick or it could be sastrugi

    Oh! A wild sastrugi reference! I had never heard that word until it stumped my Quiz Night team at the Press Box in Missoula years ago. There were at least two other skiers on the team, too.

    As usdatele has noted #sastrugiistheworstpasta

    The best thing about granular windbuff may be that there is no "granular windbuff frenzy" to speak of.

    2012 Montana Conditions, Stoke and Whatev Thread

    Spent the last couple days in the Tetons harvesting windblown nuclear pow, and now it looks like BB MLK day is sold out / will be crazy.

    Cabin booked at Lost Trail if anyone is interested in a Sunday / Monday ski.

    This is the year I really wanted to ski Bridger, but nature and the reservation system have other plans!

    Fingers crossed the Sunday storm comes in colder than forecast...

    In the end there's still that song
    Comes crying like the wind
    Down every lonely street
    That's ever been

    Were so lucky. BB skis well at a 24" base. Being able to hike to d route is fulfilling. Its been incremental, and now that we have the full mtn, we're set. I'd encourage other mags to head out there and break up the strangeness for us all. If even for a lap or 3. Gives ya something to do.

    Isis, oh Isis, you mystical child.
    What drives me to you is what drives me insane.
    I still can remember the way that you smiled.
    On the fifth day of May in the drizzlin' rain.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Your daddy he's an outlaw
    And a wanderer by trade
    He'll teach you how to pick an' choose
    And how to throw the blade
    And he oversees his kingdom
    So no stranger does intrude
    His voice it trembles as he calls out
    For another plate of food
    One more cup of coffee for the road
    One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
    To the valley below
    Visions of Johana was my Bridger drive inspiration last year. This winter it's the entire Desire album.
    Hope you fuckbois waxed
    Trying to learn the storm patterns here. Is it pretty common for the little belts and only the little belts to get absolutely dumped on? Looks like 24''+ coming... Why does it always have to land on a holiday?! Sounds like showdown monday/tuesday will be good.
    USDAtele is the resident weather pattern expert here... but I’d say not to my knowledge. I think this winter has been particularly cruel to the Bridgers.
