Yeah, I know that tree too, it is right between my house and Talisman’s. Code word is an anagram Elevated Kitty Road. Free stone grind when you ski down it.

Or semi real Liberians.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

it's always a good time carrying out an elk through that kind of blowdown.

Probably. So many of the places around Helena I used to elk hunt I can't even get to anymore. Like literally cannot get through the shit. It's really changed the experience and forced me to search for new hunting spots. I know elk can travel through some pretty thick stuff and nasty downfall, but at some point I think even the animals need to change their behavior to avoid this stuff. Ah well, good luck all.

Change of pace, found this looking through a backup drive.
Avalauncher War, year 1. Early morning at Moonlight Basin, season 1.
1/8/2004 7:54 am 6 Degrees, us poaching the top of Challenger as a warmup after hiking Headwaters boot pack. We had been open about 24 days and were still trying to figure out the layering and ways to keep your gear dry and not freeze/overheat.
approx. 36 deg slope, 600' from 9050' to 9650'

yes- please post more of those rad Moonlight pics. I remember when the big hike was part of the Headwaters runoff. your hike time was part of your score in combo with your run score. I would have made the podium if I wasnt smokin lol

I literally just got a notification for a "winter operations update" email from big sky. Went to open email on my phone and the email was gone. Wtf? My phone is screwy? Anyone else get an email?

Big Sky's plan for this winter. Funny it came out the same day I decided to upgrade from Flex 5 to Double Black. Yeah I'm an addict. Bootpack from Dakota to the Yeti Traverse sounds interesting..

I welcome this with open arms. Dakota to Yeti bootpack? Bring it on. That's what hunting season is prep for.

I’d rather bootpack than stand in that damn line with the super gapers.

1.) Admitted we were powerless over Pow and that our lives had become too gnarly.
