    Word, thanks. Yeah the Granite Country side has no MVUM or anything on caltopo etc that says what roads are open and when.

    @Gnar_Shralp406, nice stoke.

    You and Ballsy back in the shop this year? And when can I count on you guys for a couple of tunes without creating stress. 1 patrol tune and 1 tourist tune and I have a new pair of Stormriders that need clamps
    I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

    Ballz might be up there already, and I'll be starting in a week or so. The first couple weeks are fairly slow with tunes/mounts so drop by any time!

    Got the diesel heater in the cat today. So go ski, leave the heater on, come back to warm/dry cat.

    This vid is like minimal throttle engagement. It will creep along, but will also go much faster. Faster than you'd want to go.

    Sweet. Probably a stupid question but how is the throttle set up? Pedal?

    Stock cable from carbs routed to a pedal. Same for choke. Reverse is similar.

    Nice. I’m sure on snow it will be plenty smooth, in the vid the throttle looked a bit touchy.

    When I used to do a fair bit of off roading back in the day one of my buddies had a hand throttle in his jeep. Made a HUGE difference when on the throttle over undulations. But again, don’t know how necessary it’d really be for this application.

    Your 100% spot on. Stock snowmobile throttle throw is about 3/4" maybe 1" cable movement. So you have to come up with a solution that accomodates that without going zero to full throttle immediately.

    Can't use hand throttle because need hands to steer. I considered that. But yeah, this engine is all piss and vinegar and clutch engages around 4k rpm.

    It's not as hard to handle as it looks, but for the uninitiated, it's a little sporty.

    To add, brake steer cats aren't smooth like hydrostatic, but that realm is expensive and out of my area of knowledge. Requires increase throttle/power during turn initiation/completion as well, because you're skidding 10ft of track on gravel. Lotta resistance to overcome.

    I might know some of the areas you're thinking about. Most seasonal roads are already gated on granite county side. I spend a decent bit of time on granite county side of skalkaho. We get quite a bit of pressure from out of state hunters(and hunters in general). From my buddies who have been out the general consensus is that even with the new snow it's been a slow start but I was just talking to a buddy who got his cow and was going back to stalk a bull this morning. Not blowing up any spots but the whole area from east fork to Moose ck gets hit hard but there's also a ton of "truck" hunters. Tons of bma's. Hit me up on pm's if have a specific area and if I have any knowledge I'll help ya out.

    Race training on Andesite is in progress! Good thing it has started snowing a bit. Lake Levinsky is already looking kind of low.

    Gnar is winning.

    Nice to see more white stuff this morning. Thankfully, I got most of my lights up yesterday. I will post up some photos at some point.
