Great birthday weekend highlighted by summiting Sphinx for the first time. Been looking at it for 30 years and finally made it happen. Fantastic day out!

Nice! First time I did sphinx we did the loop. Such a cool perspective looking at the helmet before climbing up to the top. I'm not scared of heights but dangling the feet and staring at the divide between north and south madison ranges is pretty awe inspiring. Any bears? We ran into 4 on our hike to make it interesting. Also had my dog at the time get chased by a wolverine on the scree field. A German shepherd wolf mix and a karelian bear dog almost got messed up by that crazy fucker.

Any helena folks know what is going on with the scratchgravels?

Trying to understand gov documents it seems like 2 years ago they approved 35 miles of new trails and are banning bikers from the original 27 miles of trails? Ebikes not allowed. They sounded like they would be purpose built biking trails with a few directional biking only trails as well. Someone told me that purpose building them for bikes is no longer the case. I hear something different from everyone.

I love the south hills but I am kind of getting bored of the same ride every day.

Took the wife and kids (8 and 5) up Ch-paa-qn Peak in the Ninemile-Reservation Divides yesterday. Proud of the kids for handling the 8mi like champs... they used "Pika Powers" to scramble the 900ft of summit boulders.

Awesome man! That's a great peak for the kids (or anybody) because it's so visible from town. Pika Power sounds like a good mantra for future hikes and peaks with the kids.

Usually easy. Roads are well maintained, and the border crossing rarely takes more than a couple minutes. If you're doing it after dark, watch for deer / elk on the road.

Yeah, Fernie's a fun hill. The base is pretty low so it's sometimes manky at lower elevations, but that applies to a lot of the BC ski hills.

Couldn't find any takers on Imp so I said fuck it and drove down to the Winds. Heading out today for a 5 day backpack searching for Golden Trout. This has been a bucket list trip for a while and figured now is as good a time as any. Currently camped at 9500' and I can feel it just walking to take a piss.

Bozone drinking question. I'm setting up and cooking a hunting camp for 3 months out Spanish Creek. Houses not tents.

What's a good IPA in Bozo? Id like a clean crisp IPA not the juice bomb orange juice shit. Also the whiskey and local vodka worth featuring? Not huge drinkers they say but..

We are blue collar but I want a solid few beers in addition to pbr bud light etc.

I'm getting local meats eggs coffee bread etc.

I'd keep the alcohol content low and consider Lee Metcalf Pale Ale from Bridger Brewing.

If you're really set on IPA maybe Midas Crush from Map.

Or expand your range to Helena where the beers are much better.
