    Yes, if you're just doing a quick stability pit.

    No, if your doing a full data pit.

    Personally, I like to take the bottom layer temp and the top layer to see what sort of temp gradient you have.

    Snow saw with crystal card built in, fixed lens magnifying glass, phone with a digital level. Haven't reached a level of knowing what I'm doing to have a meed for a thermometer yet but considering it this year. Rite in the rain and pencil too 👊
