While you nitwits whinge on about impressing one another, there's more important matters like sink peeing and mylar attachments to be considered.

So what’s the ideal number of pee sinks in a nice house?
The dollar general guy might have had 37 before he died.. . .

the title of this thread is "whats the number", considering the average savings is 60k and will be 230k by retirment or 65 for most so you all aint living in a 10,000 square foot mansion on the california coast but there is another way if you are not a consumer addict. i cab retire whenever as i am not.

Your pee doesn't? That sounds worse than inconvenient--like wet feet.

I recently read that i is actually useful
but not necessarily for compounding interest

How about the Euler constant?
It's pretty useful for computing continuous compounding.
e == 1 + 1 + 1/2! + 1/3! +1/4! +... where n!==n*(n-1)*(n-2)*(n-3)...*2
Plus, it's irrational and transcendent, what better number for the TRGz?Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

We skipped the 529 and bought real estate in 2006-2010. All in, even with taxes, it was a way ahead move.
