I'm hoping. That was a killer deal I'll definitely be doing this year.

Wish I was occupying le padded seats instead of trying to make sense of a 10,000-line Perl script but, sigh, getting paid is important

Pass details are up. $500 for unlimited. Nothing on MC yet, though I remember that came in an email after pass details went up.

i want to be like the southern resort and have an ikun pass that’s unlimited padded seats plus all the perks of ruining the corduroy of far away places like Jhole altA the Big or even a few days chasing brit around that southern resort.

The padded seats were quiet this year let them keep their ikun pass.

it’s the rare ikun that’d bother with the padded seats,
not enough of em to do much damage far as i can see.

I loved that the Epikon took many people to Stevens and Crystal. Saturday crowds were lighter during lessons than they have been for a few years. Chair 2 powder day lines were still bad, but doable. Not looking for an Ikon buyout, but things could be worse. Would definitely prefer Ikon to Epic.

Operations and crowd effects aside, id prefer Epic over Ikon. Epic would include Whistler, Kirkwood and PCMR all of which i have free lodging at due to family and friends and 2 of those resorts have great terrain and consistently deep snowfall. That said, i prefer the anti-resort soul of Alpental and hope it doesn't change, even if the ownership does.

Gonna get back on skis tomorrow to cruise some groomers for the first time since tearing my MCL a month ago. It will be a short day, or a really short day depending on how it feels. Weather is looking extra mediocre.

Yeah, I have free lodging in Utah and Ikon kills Epic there. I'd also rather have Crystal than Stevens for local access. Whistler is the only pull for Epic for me. That said, I like our current vibe and would like to keep it as is.

A MTN buyout would certainly hasten my desire to realize my dreams of relocating to AK...

Oh Heaven on Earth, if every ikantskier was a Baker Bob. Can you imagine that discussion? I'd be psyched!!! Stickers would be way mo betta too.

This was my initial kneejerk reaction though, you nailed it.

Thing is, I don't mind a few more skiers. We usually have some space on any given day. It's just that sooooooo many are shite skiers. Dumbing down the mountain in short order. Jh was a high caliber mtn., but is rapidly being pussified into another destination for any schmuck skier.

I hope this passes but I'm not betting on it...

Yeah, if this has to be explained to you then you wouldn't get or appreciate it. Take a lap, and don't come back Jack.

No please, by all means, enlighten me to this so called, ‘dumbing down’.
Just sounds sounds like burnout brospeak, and it reeks of elitism. So please, I implore you, go on now.

Stopping for a break mid slope with your back to traffic = dumbing down.

Even better are snowboarders sitting in the middle of the slope with back to traffic. = dumbing down. This one seems to be an east coast affliction more than in the real mountains.

Snowboarders, huh? They saved the sport, and for real, they don’t sit in blind spots. Maybe in 1992 they did, but nah, not anymore.
Go on Now, continue to learn me.
