Anyone have a picture of Chikamin lately? Thinking of taking a walk out that way this weekend.

Thats a lot of walking this time of year, well any time of year, but S. Facing snow level is probably 3.5-4k now.

I'll try to post up an image today if/when it clears (unless Piper beets me to it).

Alpy Cinco is going to be a human powered event this time around.
It looks like the area will be opened back up to the skinning public this weekend.

Main lot (the road to the upper lots is now gated) by 8:30 - skinning by 9:00.
Apres grilling and consumption of food and beverage.

Weather is looking good, mostly sunny with a 10,500' freezing level.

It's pretty standard for them to announce. That and there's signs at the base.

and a happy Cinco to you, too, G from T!

As a side note, that looks like every "beach" I've ever been to in Canada - endlessly rocky and glacial cold water

As a second side note, I'm going bike camping this weekend and might only make it back in time on Sunday for apres...

divegirl and I took the 6yo mini-maggette out to the padded seats on her first tour for Cinco de Mayo. She uphilled on snowshoes while I carried her skis. Got about 3/4ths of the way to Source Lake for the first run on the uphill dog park then went up to the top of Sessel for the the final run. The verdict from her: "Back country skiing sure is fun!"
Chips & queso & beer in the lot after followed by an ice cream stop on the way home properly closed out a stellar day.
