I buy from iTunes, though not real frequently. Mostly I use it to preview music then odds are I'll buy it elsewhere (usually buy the actual CD).

Yup... I don't own a CD player (aside from my DVD-ROM drive on my computer), but if I buy an album it's always the physical CD so I can rip at whatever bitrate or into whatever file type I feel like at the moment. A 128kbit AAC file isn't worth nearly as much as a 'real' cd for audio...

Secondspin.com. Buy what I want used then rip to digital. Never really use the CD after that, except as backup.

I like Musicmatch as a general rule. I'm kind of new at the MP3 fruit tree so I'm sure there are other quality options but I've found their software to be bomb proof stable with a fairly deep library. They seem to work hard.

Never have...people post tracks and/or mixes in message boards for your favorite type of music....but its usually more underground stuff. I'm sure there are others just like it for the stuff you like.

As far as downloading tunes for $, I really can't understand buying a song in a compressed format for a $1. If you like an artist buy their cd, its not compressed, and then you can put those tracks on anything you want....Ipod, MD, tape, whatever...just my opinion though.
