    Marker F-12 ?????

What do you guys think about set a pair of Marker F-12 on touring skis ??
I'm preparing a tour between Zermatt and Chamonix and I'd like to know if the set up would be great for a 5-7 days trip..

    Thanks a lot.

Don't be shy to put a lot of informations about long touring trip, I'm kinda ''noob''

Well, you found the tech-talk forum so you've got that going for you... let me help.

    Check out this thread: http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ouring-binding

    and this one: http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...-Major-Failure

but then maybe read this one too: http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ths-lesson-gt/

I haven't skied the f12 before but a lot of folks on here have, and it's been discussed pretty extensively.

The TGR search function kinda sucks, so try putting site:tetongravity.com/forums after a google search like this.

Bottom line: do you have tech inserts in your boots?

If you can't afford boots with tech inserts then F12s are the way to go. If you can afford new boots then low tech bindings are the answer.

I've done the Haute Route on shitty old tele gear and a snowboarder with a heavy ass homemade split board. It will just make you stronger. Nothing beats doing it on nice light gear though.

    Follow the advice above.
