FYI - I was needing a quick mount and figured I’d ask a local shop what they charge. Christy sports in cherry creek offers mounts for 75 fucking dollars.

Crystal Ski Shop in Boulder charges $40. But Epic Mt Gear (Boulder Ski Deals) charges $50 plus $15 for a binding check.

So the body of the toe is loose on the pedestal? i.e. when you pull it up, it moves but the base plate doesn't?

Agreed, sounds like the toe height is much too high.
Once (at band camp), I raised the height of the toe so high that the it came off of the pedestal.
It was wobbly when it was raised all of the way, and a little difficult to get it to reengage to lower the toe,

that is correct. Same exact screw heights as the other toe piece though. Makes me think there is some stock shim or spacer that fell out along the way.

Toe height adjustment worked fine and is set for proper spacing between boot and AFD (tightly fits a business card) so if i crank it down more ill be messing up that up, right? Ill be double checking, loosening and retightening everything so keep the brain dump coming. If you can think of it, ill be checking it!

I'd be concerned that the threads on height screw or base plate are partially stripped or that the base plate is cracked.

Different topic, but I finally decided to make a plexiglass jig and am very happy with the results. Obviously the jig is binding and BSL specific, but if you are installing inserts and/or have multiples of the same binding, it is a huge time saver. Plus it makes checking hole overlap and aligning boot center super easy.

Note: I drilled the holes using a 9/64 bit, which is the perfect size for my center punch. I wouldnt suggest drilling thru the jig because you may widen the hole. One good whack on the center punch and you dont run the risk of your bit drifting even after removing the jig.

Mounted my BC Anima 188's tonight- Warden MNC13 Demos- Thanks for the template @gregorys !

Mounted up easy and I love the adjustability- I'm nervous with the marked -5 from center as I'm more a traditional mount guy, glad to be able to move my boots around with the demos.

Removed, inspected, loosened then tightented every screw on the toe piece i could find, and then reinstalled. Problem fixed. If i was a betting man, id put money on me being an idiot and not sinking the screws far enough into the ski (even though it sure felt like it the first time around).
