New Orleans is similar. First of all, it's shrunk a lot since Katrina and kind of gotten a lot better, too. It feels bigger with the festival events and dirty transients, but to me any US city that can't support an MLB team is small. Maybe it just feels small because the neighborhoods have such a distinct personality. Going from Magazine st. to St Claude is like a vacation from your vacation.

Plus I looked up the stats just now on Wikipedia
Do you know why there is no Major League baseball team in New Orleans?

If Pittsburgh found out they'd want one too.

You don't like 20 minutes of action crammed into 3 hours?

Oh, if a city has a major sports team..it is NOT a little city. But a minor league team can add to your coolness factor.

Baseball and football have almost exactly the same amount of "play time"...about 13 minutes.

I'm with Grrr on this one. Golf, baseball, and football are all less interesting than watching paint dry, but let's not forget curling that sucks too.

In the last couple of years we've spent about a month in Tapachula. Food was a great mix of Central American and Mexican. Fried plantains with hot sauce!! Killer coffee. Uncrowded surf less then an hour away. Saw a naked gringo tweaking out, running down the street yelling "FUCK THAT BITCH!!" Plus there is a walmart.

I really like Verona. I've visited family there and also felt like it's a place I wouldn't mind living (though having the built in social network of the family definitely helped).

Haven't seen it mentioned, but Grand Junction, CO is the most underrated small city I know. The place has really changed for the better in the last 15 years.

If you're calling Zoo town, you might as well throw in Whitefish and ye olde Bozeman.
