When this thread was started, I honestly did not think it applied to my area. Well, I was wrong. Nothing good in the foreseeable future. Painful.

The GF and I finally got sick of bitching about the Tahoe forecast and pulled the trigger on flights into ANC end of January. At the very least it guarantees the start of a massive storm cycle for the Sierras.

Nice! We're just looking to ski real mountains with natural snow. 10" base of fake on two WROD's at Squaw isn't working.

Yes, these map graphics show the problem....like an old aquaintance who wears out its welcome, California and Ullr are no longer on speaking terms. Last year, California couch surfed at Ullr's place for the season. All was copacetic at first, but then Cali mooched 700 inches of Ullr's stash which was a record even for Cali. Then he started getting all full of himself and hitting on Ullr's girlfriend. When Cali knocked over the bong on Ullr's favorite rug and just acted like it was no big deal, it was over. Now Ullr blocks his calls and there's just no love in the forecast for California.

Great. Now if AK wasn't 2000-3000 miles away at the ass end of the continent from 99 out of every 100 skiers in the US, that might mean something to the rest of us.

I'd post a TR but between all the snow and the flat light it just looks white - and that's a good thing.
