Horrible news. Never met Jamie but he seemed like a great guy and loved the sport for all the right reasons.

Shit man, was just watching some clips of him yesterday. Never met him, but went bigger than anyone. Obviously small solice, but at least he went out doing something he loved doing, albeit FAR too soon.

"You can do it too if you try." - Jamie Pierre RIP
This is a picture I took of Jamie Pierre at the 2004 Powder Video Awards in Aspen right after Jamie won the Cliff Huck Award for his 218ft drop which he followed up with a 255ft world record drop.

We used to shout his lines from High Life while skiing to raise spirits. Fond memories.
Condolences to those who knew him. RIP Jaime.Last edited by Summit; 11-13-2011 at 10:05 PM.

So so shitty. I don't like seeing our sport lose 2-3 heroes every year.
Rest in peace, may your family pass thru this.

why are they saying they had no formal avy training? youd think jamie would be well versed in avalanche terrain?

So long old friend. I love you bro, you were a true friend. Don't worry, we'll take care of Amy and the kids.
Hunting kicks ass.
Chicks dig Labs.
I'll keep my job, my money and my guns and you can keep the change.

Oh no! So damn sorry to hear this. Most of all I will remember Jamie as a family man. Having hung around him and his children it was obvious that those kids were his life. I can't imagine the pain his family is going through. RIP Jamie.

What a sad pointless way to go out for someone who has done such amazing things on skis. Brushed shoulders with him a couple times at the bird, and he seemed like a pretty nice mellow down to earth (figuratively, not literally of course) kind of guy. What a shame.
Dont know him, but its entirely possible he never took an avy I course. You CAN learn without FORMAL training.__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________________

Just heard - awful news. Supportive thoughts going out to his wife, kids and family, I can't imagine what they're going through.
In my mind he was invincible ... so sad.
