I'm the best GoPro edit on the forums.

Nice to see what you get when you put a handful of GoPros in the hands of a real production company. Mike D and Jeffy T crushed this edit. So cool to see them talk about this idea since last December and continually work, tweak and work on it throughout the Winter.

I still think polecams are gay - with the possible exception of some of the jib/jump segments like Brown's and yours where you flip. But how do you rig up that backpack/follow mount? That perspective is great.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

Props to Jeff Thomas who put this idea together when another plan went sideways on us last season. Every guy in there busted ass to get the footage done right. GoPro HD2's are on the way so we'll be doing another one this year. These are the funnest shows to make because you just get to shred.

The weird perspective stuff comes from a backpack I built a few years ago when I did my POV segment with MSP. It's got a board inside that you can screw a bunch of different poles and mounts into.

This has been a project I've wanted to do for a few seasons now. My problem (which might need to go to tech talk) is keeping the board rigid within the backpack. Otherwise, the whole mechanism flops around with every bump and turn.
I demoed the TECH TALK JONG! pro model this spring and their performance was unparalleled which is good because I ski in a wedge most of the time - bendtheski, 2011

That's about as good as it gets with Go Pros. Crazy good skiing and lines all around. That said, I can only handle so much POV footage... IMO, mixing in non POV footage makes edits like these way more interesting.

SkiJunky has a killer Go Pro edit from biking Teton Pass and the thing that made it stand out for me was that it also had non-POV (still Go Pro). If it had been 7 minutes of weird POV angles I would have gotten bored.

That was an awesome start to my day.

We've won it. It's going to get better now. You can sort of tell these things.

Not sure why they filmed it in such deep snow.... It kept "blocking and fogging" the image.

Maybe next one, they should wait until things have been groomed.

That was really really good! I like the snow tunnel effect when the camera is on the ski. Bobby Brown needs to pull his pants up.

Best stuff I've seen in a while on here! The angle off the backpack is definitely a step up from helmet cams, "see my ski tips, here's my gloves" angle. Thanks Mike for sharing the goods here!

excellent stuff. but my 3 year old still skis better than you ; )

i've seen the backpack mount a couple times. does anyone know if GoPro is considering creating an accessory so we don't have to hack at it ourselves forever?

Mike D- Do you have any photos you can share of your setup?

    Thanks guys. You rock.

Can we all agree that if your goPro footage isn't at least as good as this, then you keep it to yourself?

some edits convey the "feel" i get while skiing much more than others
part of it is capturing the hectic nature mixed with the search for flow that is the balance of skiing
the editing did an amazing job of showcasing this and resonated perfectly, really well done

but what really stoked me out was the preview for next episode!
