blurred wants to make jump to smart iphone-simplemobile?
So I've been holding out on getting an Iphone because of the ridiculous cost per month.
Lost my phone yesterday, so I'm in need of a new one.
Best plan I've found is through simplemobile. $60 unlimited everything. My understanding is that simplemobile uses Tmobiles network. Tmobile works good enough in my area.
Anyone know what I need to do to get an iphone working on this network? (tmobile iphone) Jailbreak etc, but how do I program phone? Is it sim card? Does it need to be swapped out? Does anyone have a older 3G Iphone they want to sell me for cheap?

iPhone is fun. A perfect communication device that basically never freezes. The droids freeze up and you have to re-boot, even to make a call. iPhone will not do that for calls, a rouge app might have to be re-installed, but that is it.
The other, no clue. Verizon rocks.Terje was right.

Droid works better for people who refer to themselves in the third person.

They have the directions on their website but say it is not supported. http://www.mysimplemobile.com/phones...programmingtab
The iPhone has a sim card in it but I don't think it is user accessible.

This would be correct. People who use Tech Talk for cars and phones and shit are unclear on the concept.
I have a 1st gen droid I could send you if you want it, it's pretty beat up but it works. Buy me a beer sometime. Only if you'll use it though.
edit: I'm away from where it is for a week, you might not want to wait that long, let me know.Last edited by iceman; 11-01-2011 at 05:52 PM.

The biggest problem with the carriers that rent space from tmobile, verizon, and at&t is dropped calls. If a tower reaches capacity the leasers get kicked off before the owner of the tower. I decided that dropping calls (even occasionally) wasn't worth the minimal savings to go with one of the smaller carriers.

iPhone will take some getting used to but in the end, you will be VERY happy you went that route.

Iphone is every bit as good/bad as everything else. My iphones freeze, crash, etc. at about the same rate as the the Android based phones I've owned. Go with whichever feels the most intuitive, unless you want a phone that talks to you like a GPS device from 1999, then go with the iphone
does anyone still enjoy riding inbounds?

Old Droid has basically never frozen after several years--apps have frozen (or refused to close) a few times (very rarely), but that's it.
But I agree simplemobile sounds good for Brett--extremely, stupid simple might be best for a guy like him.[quote][//quote]
