Introducing Dad to the game of G.N.A.R.
Just got this email from my Dad in the Mad River Valley.
Dad's 81 and doesn't ski anymore, but taught me when I was 7...
After you look at the magazine cover, answer the question, "What would be your thoughts if that were you in the photo?"
I can imagine a few thoughts.... "Oh shit, I don't have my rock skis on." Or "I sure hope I sharpened my edges enough to hold on this ice."
Or, how the hell did I get here in the first place?"
"This has to be a nightmare, there's no way up or down."

My response:
I'd go with "I'm gonna rip the shit out of this line"!!! Probably pound my chest a few times...:-P
Extra G.N.A.R. (Gaffney's Numerical Assesment of Radness) points for calling mom while skiing said line, and/or skiing it butt nekid.
Welcome to G.N.A.R. Dad! Truth be told I only have 3 days so far. I know; slacker.
I can't believe he taught me to ski; I'm so much better than him!!!

Well played sir, well played...
I need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Nice. Only thing is. Based on your story, you're dad is so much better than you. He was whacking his pole when you were still in diapers ;-).
