I'll give it a try. I think I'm training close to my anaerobic threshold now. I have a feeling if I add the power sets I'll be going into anaerobic territory and may need to slow the pace afterward for a bit to recover.

Just noticed this thread. Good for y'all! I rowed in high school and college and after 50 billion VO2 max/anaerobic threshold/2K/pull til your eyes bleed and your lungs are on fire and you're in the most overwhelming physical pain of your entire life tests, I got way burnt out on it (as well as gyms in general). Back on one for warmups at Planet Fitness, so we'll see. One of my college teammates is still at the boathouse in D.C. rowing or erging every day at 5 AM like it's junior year. Not sure what unresolved childhood issues that campaign is trying to sweat away

I felt like it was time for a 10k TT today. Went 40:14. Previously my longest distance had been something like 8,500 meters.

Nice work! Mine today was a 7min 2k followed by 4x 4min intervals with KB work during "rests". Trying to make sure I row at least 3x per week mixed in with the other stuff I'm doing.

Nice. I don't have the patience. Among other things.

If you were on a Concept 2 you'd be at about #555 in the world this year in your age group. There's a lot of beasts on there: https://log.concept2.com/rankings/20...nder=M&page=12

It's a slog, for sure. Normally 30 minutes tops for me.

Yeah I've been following the exploits of T.J. Oesterling for years now. He's quite a bit older than me (12 years) and there's just no way I can even come close to his times. He has the fastest time in the world this year in the 70-79 group, a 6:57 2000, which would put him in the top 20 one age group down and in the top 200 2 age groups down. Guy was a defensive tackle at UCLA, he got drafted by the Raiders in 1971. He's slowed down some in recent years but so have I.

Filing this under things I should have bought 10 months ago. Seven minute 2k row training begins again.

Nice! Enjoy. Don't go crazy out the gate and burn out on it.

Thanks! Just eased into it with a 2:15 pace on a 4k.

Surprised this thread hasn't had more action since quarantine. Guess all the dentists prefer Pelotons. Haha

Ha. Concept2 should upgrade the screen and do some videos of a crusty old guy in a motorboat yelling at you, to compete with Peloton

I've still been rowing some, but now that I've been able to swim I've been doing it less. I get pretty bored rowing even though I can watch TV while doing it. I usually shoot for about 7,500 meters which takes 32-33 minutes.

We like to have Darts (under games) competitions here at work on the C2. I can't break 14,500. Coworker damn near threw a perfect game a few weeks back. Fun way to warm up.
