You're gonna dig it! Steepest, tightest inbounds stuff you'll ever ski. West basin ftw. Oh, and be prepared for core shots and/or blown out edges.

I brought my Magic rock skis and left my brand new skis, on which MNIAW was nice enough to mount bindings for me, at home. I should have brought my new skis as my rock skis came home unscathed. I met some old-timers who told me the coverage has not been this good since the 90s.

For other ECers who may be thinking of skiing Tahoe or SLC in the next few weeks because of all of the snow they have received, strongly consider going to Taos instead. I was in Tahoe early February during which we had over 8 feet of snow. Every day was knee deep pow day. My buddy and I had more fun in Taos this Tuesday. Killer terrain, friendly people, lack of crowds, no crazy agro-road-closure-BS. The vibe is a lot like Magic.

Thanks JackStraw and Goniff. Hope to get some fresh to cover up any jaggedness, but looking forward to exploring the place at any rate. Bringing my Wren 108s which have pretty bomber bases...

Heading towards Taos with a buddy to ski tomorrow. Anyone want a beer or two at the Bavarian for showing us around for a few runs? Only skied one day there, with approximately half the snow.

I hate to be a Debbie-Downer, but god damn!

Weekends with snow are absolutely absurd. All the terrain stays untouched but lift lines are atrocious. Saw many verbal altercations between locals, gapers on spring break, and the worst of them all: the Colorado Bro Brah.

    Fucking Ikon Pass,

Come ski Taos on a Monday or a Tuesday and I’d love to show you around.

Bummer, I could have come down yesterday, but waited for my friend. Hopefully I don't regret that...

Mine tailings ripped out big, eh.

I hiked that with Ricus on our break during a pass blackout. Close to the top I'm post holing and then the whumph and a six inch crack across the whole slope. Kinda shit my pants. Not about going down...was on a tree...but burying the road.

I knew in short order that ripping laps with you was a future requirement for me. You got Ski Bum written all over you like a tagged railcar. Dig yer steezy ensemble. Way to host the collective.

    Solid work, Mag.
