Changing subject.....planning my first trip to Taos this winter. My brother has fled the i70 mess of Denver for Albuquerque so I am visiting at some point this winter. Any advice much appreciated.

Yeah, I'm not drinking green chilli beer no matter where I am. And I don;t hike when there's a lift available (though I have been known to skin).
Thanks for info on the snow. Taos seems very dependent on the southern storm track, and that track is not as reliable as the northern track that would hit the SLC areas and central/northern CO.
Any decent and not outrageously priced hotel options?
