No lines at Hyak today. Lots of fresh and falling bodies everywhere. Reminded me of skiing in the '50's.

Yup, Hyak was the right call today. Pleasantly surprised to see no significant line form the whole day, which is crazy since it had been closed all week. Probably a little creamier consistency than alpy, but way worth it.

Total sleeper day at xtal. Caught the rope drop on Northway and got two unmolested tracks down Morning Glory side. Was much deeper and fresher than expected everywhere. The scare of wind holds and cancelled multi-weeks lessons this weekend kept the masses away today (for once). Had a great afternoon poking around a very quite Northway with Mrs. Shin while the hoardes descended on SB.

That was cool. Permit to ski Crater Lake? Use to have a lift SE of the lodge.

You can't ski off the rim to the lake legally but there is 2,000 vert from garfield peak back to the rim road with no permit required. you do need a permit to camp.

Garfield Peak is about where the old ski lift was. Ever look over Mt.Scott for a tour?

Mission Ridge was tits today, I don't know what a line is. Shitloads of people and the lot was full, but there was a race and it seemed no one was skiing. Puking all day. Truly dumbfounded. Tomorrow will be epic.

Agree on all accounts. Having the quad closed yesterday was just all the sweeter today. Easily the best day I've had so far this season

Yea Alpy lines get quite long on powder days. I haven't been there on a weekend pow day yet.
