    Hiya Crank.

Hit me if you plan to go to Crystal. I might have some floor/couch space pending cabin-mate schedules the next week in Greenwater.

I'll pm you with a phone number.

    Crystal:

Conditions are currently hovering between good and excellent. Crystal is probably your best best for lift skiing with a big mountain flavour. Staying in Enumclaw is cheap, and there are a few lively bars and restaurants. A lot of the "apres ski" at Crystal takes place in the parking lot, which is cool and fun, but I don't know if it's your thing. Watch out for the speed trap when you're driving down Crystal Mountain Boulevard to 410.

If you want to hit Alpental, you can stay in North Bend.

Um, the maple syrup should be from Quebec. But seriously, have a great trip. Don't be surprised if you decide to move here.
What, you want Quebexicans making your syrup??

Really though, thanks for the advice everyone. Looks like we'll just fly in to Seattle and hop around to whatever's good. I'm loving that telemetry business - super cool info!

    See you next week!

Thanks Jess! That would be sick - we're on a budget (isn't everyone) so that would save us some motel $$$. Again, syrup would be offered in return, if you like that sort of thing. If not, beer will be provided!

    Lost Beacon @ Stevens 1-3-2012

Lost my transceiver up at Stevens yesterday. Somehow it fell out of my pack somewhere inbounds on the front-side. Likely places it could be are just beneath Tye Rock, the high entrance to Tye Bowl if you cut right under the lift and stay high (or somewhere in that "pocket" just before you actually drop into the bowl), and possibly somewhere in the Wild Katz trees (skiers right). It's a Pieps DSP. I'm not sure if I had it on or off when I put it into my pack and we tried searching around with my friend's beacon but no luck.

It might be elsewhere inbounds too (sigh) since someone had turned in something else from the pack to lost & found. We never went to the backside though.

I know this is a repost from the main page thread I made but I'm pretty bummed at the moment so if any of you guys see anything, please let me know.

Did you contact patrol? Maybe they'd be interested in find the xceiver and would go look for it there.

Yeah, spoke with them and left my number. Did the same at lost and found. Guess I just need to wait it out now.

They should be able to find it using a recco search unit.

Crystal have done this with headcams. The circuitry (in a powered off) electrical device is enough to bounce back like a recco patch.

    Nice protocol dude.....

Nice. Yesterday was great. Everyone back at work and untrack pow in the sunshine.

Today skied suprisingly well outside of the resort. Although skinning in several inches of heavy slush is not as enjoyable as it sounds.

Rained last night to 7k in central and south, then started snowing. Currently appears to be some (2-3") cream on crunch scenarios with potential for a wee bit more snow today and tomorrow.

the snow level is yo-yoing pretty dramatically. Unfortunately, the low snow levels are corresponding to periods of dryness while the high levels are when the moisture comes through. It's supposed to be cold until Sunday, let's cross our fingers and hope everyone picks up enough for some decent skiing in the next couple of days, but it's supposed to be fairly dry too...

This season is acting like a really finicky lawnmower engine. Fired up and ran fine at first, then it couldn't get any fuel and now it's intermittently flooding...

Any recent local beta on Bachelor conditions? Might be out that way next weekend. Non mag buddy says they haven't had much in the way of snow the past couple weeks.
