The birth of a company: The TR
So let me preface this story but stating that over the course of the years I've generally got a good chuckle at some of the athlete founded companies that pop up in the ski and snowboard world. The fact is I'm not going to buy your gloves cause you won the x-games last year. Plus how could you compete with 'dexterous as fuck'. So I've always been a bit hesitant to jump in the athlete-startup game, but this, this was too good to pass along.
It all started a few years ago when a few of my friends and I started swapping out our leather and nylon belts for stretchy fishing belts on our ski pants. Suddenly snow was less involved with our nether regions, our pants became way more comfortable, we no longer would get 'jibber-ass-sag' and big metal belt buckles weren't slamming into our stomachs during successful landings or unsuccessful tomahawks.
We started exclaiming the good of a stretchy belt. But no one could buy one unless they were ripping one off their fishing waders .
So we designed this:
More info here: http://arcadeapparel.com/
We found a manufacturer, bought a couple samples, rolled to a local shop and then were utterly surprised by their decision to order more belts than we had on hand. We laid our cash down, bought a big shipment of webbing and went to town sewing in the "Sweatshop de Townsend".
Somehow, again much to our surprise, we sold out of that initial stock in 8 weeks.
Time to start a real business. Now let me tell you, since then, I never could have expected the amount of workload that goes into running a business. Successful entrepreneurs, I applaud the shit out of you. You guys are seriously amazing.
So now we're running. We'll be in shops across the West hoping to hold peoples pants up with a little bit more comfort and a little bit more style. As we say, an Arcade belt turns all your pants into sweat pants.
Before our first four different models/size/colors get into shops, I wanted to offer the maggs a serious discount. They'll be retailing for 22 bucks but for the legions that provide stoke, make us laugh and to those who have started companies through these boards themselves, I'm offering up the belt for 15 bucks. Just click this link below...

Just follow the links to The Standard belt.
Buy it, don't buy it. Whatever. I just wanted to pass it along to you guys and give you guys a face to the name that hopefully you'll see in store soon. It's been a fun experience.
An as one last token of appreciation, here's one last photo for your enjoyment.

Excellent production values & I like the idea. My only objection is the logo placement.Oh and topless girls would have even better production value.
Calmer than you dude

So, that stretch must come in handy if you suck down too much pizza & beer before heading home, I guess?
You know you'll be in direct competition with SpaceCraftCollective(?) (Jaimie Pierre?)?

Sick boys! Thanks for the stoke and support. And yeah, probably most of the stoke comes from ladies in the photo, but who cares, we'll take it.

Discount Question
Hey,
Is it $7 off your order, or $7 off a belt?
Trying to buy 2, changed the #, clicked on update, but only one $7 discount?
Cheers.

Belt purchased.
I'm not sure if we get to choose a black or blue belt, but I'm hoping mine comes in the blue variety.
