    Blind Melon love

Just dusted off my old Blind Melon cd's. Fuck, I love this band. Too bad Mr. Hoon OD'd...they were in their prime.

Anyone going to the labor day concert near Thurmont MD?

Edit, anyone else think they were totally underrated?

Great band - so much better than the few songs that got heavy radio rotation. "Change" is a favorite.

Why go to a show of a band whose sole purpose was to be the vehicle for the now dead lead singer? Would you go to a Nirvana Reunion?

One of my all time bands!!! Great songs, actually discovered them while watching MTV like 10 years ago when they still played music videos. Song no rain where that little girl runs around in a bumble bee suit and they are playing in a wheat field.

Tipp nailed it. Change has never left the rotation for me.

Yeah...I understand the lacklusterness of seeing them without the lead man, but I am still thinking of going.

I would offer that the "no rain album" has many songs on there that are quite complex and never get old (to me at least). I hadn't played that album in a few years and got shivers and was singing at the top of me lungs.

My buddy met the whole band in a small venue in CT back in the day. He said that they were realy cool, nice fellows.

Too bad he didn't change, cuz now he's 6-ft under.

Change is a hard thing to achieve with substances.

"All I can say" This was enjoyable and sad at the same time. I recommend checking it out if it shows in your town or when it becomes available online maybe.

    I'll keep an eye out.
Recently watched Malfunkshun: The Andrew Wood Story. In the same ballpark with the same ending.

I'm a huge Shannon Hoon and Blind Melon fan, I think I'l find this kinda painful but I'll see it.

There's a couple mentions of "Change" upstream in this thread ^^ man I love that song and this video:

    RIP still Shannon.

    RIP.

Always liked St Andrews Fall. Galaxie. Pretty much all their stuff actually. Still in regular rotation.
