Haha, yes, such a different feeling at the hill compared to the pow feeding frenzy I'm used to at LL, SSV, KH, Whistler, etc. I got in line on opening day at 8:30 a.m. to meet P.Blz and caught about 10th chair. (One of the liftees was handing out peppered bacon strips!)
Most of the vid is on the highest chair (Easter), which is a slow-speed triple but accesses a lot of terrain, so the skier density is super low. Most times we never saw anyone else on the run we were skiing. It was like Louise midweek in January, during a -30 cold spell.

Thanks for the heads up. I was at SSV and did it on the most insignificant thing - stood at the top of virgin chutes, dropped in and washed out on the first turn on a couple very minor looking rocks hiding under the fresh snow. Thought nothing of it till I checked my bases whilst waiting at the lift.
f2f - thanks, not sure they fit the bill but i'll bear them in mind whilst I ponder my options.

This clown has to go to Calgary for a work stuff on Dec. 14, so it should be snowing then. Hope it snows sooner, though.
Speaking of clowns, what happened to Shadam? Did Canada Customs turn him away this year?
Usually by now he is posting drinking, er I mean conditions reports almost daily.

I'm still away and I am being bombarded by Blizzards here. I'd happily steer them your way, but weather just doesn't seem to want to travel from Northeast to Southwest in this country...
looks like y'all are gonna have to pray for me to come home quick so I can attract the storms back to Time2Clmbistan.

How true do they measure? The 188 S7s were perfect for me but they measure and ski short, i'm hesitant about going as big as 192 given i'm a shortarse (5'6").
Also this is a really, really long shot but does anyone know of anyone who may have a pair of used small dukes they'd consider swapping for a pair of larges?
Sorry for the thread hi-jack.

Warning: Somewhat tech-talkish-
Does anyone know where I can buy a 3.6x9mm binding drill bit and a #12Ab tap in Calgary?
Or does anybody have a bit and tap they could lend out in exchange for a six pack?
If you also have an FKS jig I'll make it a 24!
Might just order from Tognars but thought I would at least try to support local business.

fwiw, (and it ain't worth much), extended GFS has the nasty blocking ridge gone around mid-next week, and a series of storms making their way across from dec. 17 to 22. Obviously, long range and not-much-more-reliable-than-witchcraft, but its something.
