For sale: XL Banshee Scream - NIB (8" travel) and Marz. Shiver (~8" travel)
I recently warrantied a broken 2003 banshee scream that was in my parents' basement.
I had hopes of running the bike in the lowest BB setting and lowest travel setting - in order to have the heaviest 6x6" bike on the planet.
However, Banshee sent me a V2 (2007?) scream, which doesn't have the lowest travel setting or the lower BB setting.
Given that I already have a DH bike, I'm not going to build this one up as well.
Because this bike's geometry predates Flow Country Trails (15" BB, 69" head angle), I'll let the following go for $250 + shipping in order to get it out of my bike storage closet:
-Brand new XL Banshee Scream V2 (anodized black) - still in the box with all the packing material so no pics.
-Pushed Fox Vanilla RC with the mounting hardware (used)
-Marzocchi Shiver - I uploaded pics to the "photo" section.
If you want the Shiver, shipping will be a little more expensive since this would have to ship from a different location.
This bike has somewhat outdated geometry but is plenty durable and would be a fine, cheap starting point for an 8x8" bike.
Feel free to price police, pitch a fit about the weight or geometry, or talk about how many people you know who totally cracked the first generation at the welds on the seat tube, bro (I cracked the welds where the seatstays meet the swingarm yoke).Last edited by mildbill.; 02-10-2012 at 01:01 PM.

Bump for possible interest in the shiver - get on this while it's still a package deal.

That frame could probably be made more up to date with some short shocking and maybe Angleset love, yes?
Drop the BB, slacken it out, toss a new fork on it.

It rides fine as is, it's just heavy. I used a Scream for both DH and FR for a season. The supposedly inferior or "retro" geometry never held me back.
People get too hung up on trendy fads in bike design. This frame could help someone get into lift-served DH nicely. Even without an angleset or modification to the shock mount.

Fucking duh. I never said it couldn't work just fine as is. Having those options though will possibly make it more attractive to potential buyers, and thus easier to sell.
No mod to the shock mount mentioned anyhow. A shorter eye to eye and stroke shock possibly is all I meant.Florence Nightingale's Stormtrooper

Yes as far as the shorter stroke - that was my original intention (but via a 6" travel setting / same stroke shock). However, it's a 1 1/8" headtube so based on my understanding of an angleset that wouldn't work.
But, if I had the patience and space for a project bike that is what I would do.

I think I remember 'wildbill' posting vid of said huck to flat at Lynn that led to a broken wrist if I remember correctly. I think we are going way way back now.

That would be Acapulco (circa 2003 - Sequencing and photoshop courtesy of the Angry Whelk)
Didn't break my wrist on this one, or the other big one, but the broken wrist is from the same sweet video...also no pics of the spider or the one on the other side of the hill from the spider (into the swamp).
Also, I sweahtagad I didn't bottom the suspension in that photo kid.
I will ration out a few more EMASS hucks to keep this thread bumped...

I am only a smaller fucktard.
Thanks.

I know zip about DH bikes but this seems like a damn good deal for someone looking to expand their quiver on the cheap
Be careful about buying snowboard goggles for skiing. Snowboard goggles come in right eye and left eye (for goofy-footers) dominant models. This can make it hard to see correctly when skiing because you are facing straight down the hill, not sideways.

If you shrink it down to regular people size I'll be all over it. I would do it myself, but my washer/dryer aren't big enough

Lets get more of these EMASS photos, STAT. Especially the Blue Hills porno, throw in some renegade Nashoba action and I'll buy that frame as a thank you.
