    Wow. The wiki says the building is 89m (292ft) tall. His jump had to be less than that. What is the minimum height needed to base jump.

    For a hand held deploy you'd be looking at something around 50m. Maybe a bit less if you don't really like yourself.

    sounds about right. mcconkey did it off the front of beck's, which was probably less than 150'. I was there the first time (i think he did it again) and it looked like to me like the canopy popped like 15-20' off the deck, maybe less

    Ski BASE is different, the airspeed from skiing off the jumps helps deploy the canopy faster... 50m/165 feet hand held from a stand still is asking for trouble. Most jumpers will opt for a static lined deployment at those heights.

    This jumps from 270, handheld. 7 second canopy ride

    If things seem in control, Your just not going fast enough.
