As my season in Japan approaches the end, I thought I would share some photos from the past few months.

    A couple scenic shots:

I have more if there is interest.

It amazes me that you survived 2 seasons in Gulmarg (probably the worst place to get hurt) without injury. Hopefully you still got some good days in this winter?
Looks like next season will be lower 48 till Christmas, back to Hakuba, and AK in the spring.

Going for a larger size on these ones, I think it looks better even if it messes w format.

Dunno who you are, but I met your photo buddy Rob Sim. Perhaps we met as well?

Looks like you really enjoyed Hakuba, very pretty pictures.

I teach avalanche courses here (in Hakuba). Do you mind if I use this photo in my course materials? That slide path is directly off the lifts and your picture is a very good one at making a point about start zones, paths and run outs using a popular bit of local terrain.

got some great days in this winter. and all i managed to do was hurt myself once over 2 years ago, then i couldnt be constrained by measly titanium rods in my spine so they had to come out. bonus that i no longer set off metal detectors.

Hohes, this is Lee from the Powder Lodge. I think I was biking down the Daisekke while you were heading up a couple days ago?
Youre welcome to use that photo. Here is a close up of the crown from the same slide, if it is of any help.

Lee - thanks for the pic, I appreciate it.

Sorry we didn't meet up at any stage. Yes that was me walking up the closed road. That morning I attempted to go in from another high route but it was frozen rock solid. I've had a well stocked base camp up there for the last 6 weeks and bounce between home in the valley and nights up there. Conditions have been very good, though a lot of the north facing lines lack soft snow. Yesterday was one of the best days I've had in Hakuba, it will remain etched into my mind, though I swore several promises out loud never to solo crawl along knife edge ridges ever again. I've had enough of that shit. Came back to the valley last night to meet up with my wife, then heading out again today for Shirouma unless the wind gets up.

Perhaps meet next season and thanks again for the pics.

Nice stuff. I think I missed most of the sunny pow days this year and spent a lot of days tree skiing in storms. Good season though
