Older skis worth owning
What now out of production skis are worth owning? There's been a couple of threads talking about older skis (such as the Monster 103 thread) so I got curious as to what old skis folks around here like enough to still keep around and ski.
The Explosiv and original incarnation of the Dynastar LP seem locks for the list, but what else? Nordica w105s?

XXL's.
While I haven't skied it, I imagine RC112's will make the list.

Spats, only the original race room LPR's, original 89 mm Scot Schmidts, DPS Lotus 120's once they're history, yep Exploders, original Squads (and maybe 112's but they're different), and 04 Goats.

I'll throw in one of my personal favorites that I still own and ski regularly: Karhu Jaks, orange Totem ones (2003 maybe?) that are 99 underfoot (they are basically Line Mo'ships). Still a very versatile, relatively lightweight ski that tours well and skis resorts nicely.

I'm not so sure that you understand what spam is, but I hadn't ever seen the "classic skis" section of that thread so thanks for pointing it out.
On the other hand, Marshal's classic ski list is from 6 years ago (edited 4 years ago, but I'm not sure any new skis were moved to the classic section). Some of the skis on the recommended list have aged pretty well (the Squad, which gets a mention here) while others (who recommends Public Enemies as everyday skis any more?) have done so less well. So this thread serves to talk about which as which.
Because as meanfruit says on the newest page of the thread you cite:

I've been on Head Mojo 90s for a lot of this season. They've been out of production since 2007-2008 (?) in favor of a wider, softer replacement that never got the same love.
I've had a blast on them in variable East Coast conditions and think they're a good option for someone looking for a mid-waisted ski on the cheap. They've proven pretty darn durable, so they might make ideal late season skis when the rocks start to peak out (They don't really float though, so if you get some light early season snow, you might want to choose something else). They'll never be legendary, but they still serve.

I still have a pair of 184 Atomic R:ex. They're great in everything but super deep snow. And even then I'd rather ski them than lots of others I've tried.

Im going to have to 2nd Mojo 90's and throw in the obvious Pocket Rockets (pretty much the same ski)

I've never skied the Pocket Rocket but was led to believe that they softened up a lot over time due to their foam cores and thus didn't end up being that durable. I assumed that was why I've not seen too many around. Have you not found that to be the case?

The older generation Obsethed (was in production till 09/10, this season's is different) is a great rocker/camber/rocker fat (105 at the waist) ski that you can get for a reasonable price on the used market. Sort of like a thiner, cheaper S7.

Jeez, the ski is only a year old. Until my core shot Monday, my RC bases were in pristine condition, I guess they're old now.
