acinpdx, my buddy let me take his 196s for a spin several years ago and absolutelyfell in love with them... It has been a while since I have ridden or owned anything with metal (last was my 191 Katanas which is one of my all time fav) and holy shit I forgot how heavy metal skis are... I love the profile and shape and no doubt they will be crud killers... I am heading out for a trip in a couple of weeks and these will be in the bag and I will def throw up my thoughts...
Looking forward to hearing what you have to say a out your 114 Down skis...

I like that top sheet a lot better than my OGs.
What I love about these skis is how nimble they feel for such a stout platform. Can't wait to get back on mine.

Blizzard Bodacious 196 Review
186 is somewhere traveling west to my front door. Stoked on the original concept. Had the pistachio green in a 196 a few seasons ago and liked that as well.

How do these compare in terms of stiffness to the old 192 LP 105? They were the most missile esque things (bar my old GS skis) I've owned. I liked them but didn't love them as they had no rebound on them.

I was so close to pulling the trigger on a pair of 186s. Also having some regret. I ski the blue/green 186s and its my favorite ski period.

Funneh, they look like they have way less sidecut in IRL. I wouldn't be surprised if the deal is still on for those of you with regrets. Go to the website and see. I put on a good two-layer application of high-flouro just to scare myself silly. Really nice factory finish. Bases flat as a pancake.

deal is still live for the 196, but 186 are sold out.
I impulse bought a pair of 186 which I'll be drilling tomorrow and skiing this weekend.

I picked up some 2016/2017 Bodacious this summer and finally got em mounted (yea I fucking mounted them myself) for both tele and alpine using inserts. Took em out for the first day today (gave up waiting for good snow), only got some groomer and short bump runs but the only thing I wish was different was that I got the 193s instead of the 185s. Love these skis so far, can’t wait for some decent snow/terrain so I can see what they are capable of. Everything I read was that these skis need to run but actually found them to be quite playful. I was expecting to be taken for a ride but was plesently surprised how well they skied at less than 110%.
I’d love to get on some of the new/old ones to see what the difference is.
