FWT Kirkwood? NAFC? Where's all the stokage??

If there is already a thread started please direct me too it. Hey, Lachnload how come you weren't there defending your qual. championships? How is the Freeride Tour Playing in this? Points will count for both tours? What judging format are they using? I would love to be there participating but I am using my knee as a lame excuse...

i don't really understand it either. tried to film today, but it was my first effort with dslr video and it didn't go well. kirkwood local josh daiek qualified first. It was a very tough field with only 15 advancing. finals (day 1) is saturday with major event (i think this is the part that includes the freeride world tour). it's supposed to be bluebird by then.

Yea, I have read the results on the FWT web-site. Still wanted to know more details. Were the people who were throwing tricks getting higher scores?

i didn't get to see the whole thing. the tricks i saw resulted in crashes as the vis was poor and the surface not particularly soft. i saw some really good runs that didn't make it.

Full-on nuclear here, its pretty nuts. Shovelled our walkway and it was knee deep a half hour later. Hoping they get a couple lifts running so we can ski some pow while we wait for skier's right of the Cirque tomorrow morning. Stacked field includes top names in both tours. I think Freeride guys get points in our tour, but not vice versa, and it is judged in the Freeskiing tour's criteria. Should be an awesome event with some really sick skiing. For those in the area who don't want to buy a ticket, free cat rides to the venue every hour all weekend...

I decided not to compete this year TBoz. I gave up my spot a few weeks back since i've only skied maybe 7 days this year. Presidents was my first day out since January 1st. Although the last 2 years i had my pass suspended from squaw almost a month before each comp and didn't ski until a few days before. It would be nice to win more than just the qualifier. Maybe next year I will finally do something about that. I am interested to see what goes down with the new snow and the high level of talent that will be there.

just wanted to bump this and say it is absolutely going to go off today. Looks like the Freeride World Tour finally found a North American Venue that's going to give them what they want.

killing it with the live feed once again... i was stoked to take a day off after shredding more pow in the last week than you have shredded in your whole life and watching the tour... get you shit together dudes, especially when you have 2 days to get it set up.
