...although on a weekday in november, you can find freshies there at 1pm
tuesday there was really no need to hit any of the traverse/hike accessed stuff as there was hardly a soul around, just other cham people.
grands is going to be a shitshow this weekend. the front face of le tour and the whole of the pierre a ric is already tracked out and we're not even open yet...If I come off as smug or self-rightous or arrogant, well, it's because this is the internet and you haven't seen me ski. - Highway Star RIP

its this one, the shoulder between top lift and mid station. if it really slid 1000m then it slid off the cliffs at the bottom left of the pic.
edit:the snowboarder is still missing, but they found his board...

this genoa low looks like a big blast: milan is already under the snow, in spite of forecasts predicting only rain here....

Too much snow in Klagenfurt -- they had to cancel the football match between Sturm Graz and SK Austria Kaernten.

Is anyone going to be travelling from the Arlberg to Zurich in the next few days? I managed to forget my boots at a pension where we were staying.

Yo!
Have tried to get some picture of the overall snowsituation in the alps (have checked the links and the thread) but...
Seems that the base is ok in the h-tux/stubai area and engelberg/andermatt as well? Monterosa/cerv has been pounded as well.
Havent decided if I should fly in to munchen, zurich or milan, but the snowsituation seems to be really good all over?
Klar/keksie, what the situation in innsbruck area?
Any other mags cruising around the next weekend?
The floggings will continue until morale improves.

There is foehn on the northern side of the Alps, def between IBK and Zurich, so while there is good coverage, the snow quality is no longer great. The southern side of the alps is currently getting hit by a storm, so maybe either Milan, or flying in to Zurich and heading down to Andermatt would be good options.

Yes, we got great powder a week ago and now the 1m of fresh is wind hammered in most parts in the northern Swiss alps.
I was in the Glarner Alps for a tour yesterday and the upper half (2300m to 1700m) was not much fun anymore. Lower down we still managed to get a few powder turns in.
Damn wind!

theres a lot more snow in arlberg & engelberg/andermatt area than in ibk, as usual.. base at the smaller resorts around ibk is not good enough for offpiste, excluding the glaciers.. stubai is OK snow-wise but the glacier resort is boring so i dont really know why you'd like to head there when theres other options. a front coming in from south and andermatt is supposed to catch that i guess..
south-tyrol might be an option also if they've any base left from the early season dumps they caught and if theres open resorts, dunno.
