Midi was in prime condition today; deep and very stable. Busy on the arete but fine on the descent (Moyens/Grand Envers).

Brevent's Hotel Face was tracked but good. Lots of blasting going on around the top couloirs around 2pm following a reported avalanche fatality.

ok, perhaps i was assuming too much. if you meant some really über-obscure puddle and not, say, achensee, you win this one.

äh, wait. didnt you go to seefeld, like everybody does nowadays? it is as secret as, say, axamer lizum. since everybody goes there though, the first tram at nordpark doesnt even get full anymore on powder days.

someone should organize more freeride-contests! so all the young trendriders go there for face inspections and other stuff with a silly naming instead of skiing powder.

Skied the grubigstein area yesterday, conditions were excellent with the new snow and plenty of relatively untracked was found in the morning. reminded me of Snobasin. Boot to shin deep offpiste and the snow was light. py iphone pix, and unable to find the rotate tool to straighten them out on dad's crappy laptop.

    oh my god.
yesterday was seriously the deepest i've skied for a loong time (and it didn't turn to glop like last year). two runs consisted of a single faceshot. back to the obscure: the area i went to is that obscure that the freeriding locals (about 10-20 on the weekend!) still chat with you.

today in switzerland was not as überdeep but amazingly stable and fun. It still looks überdeep on the pics though. killswitch got faceshots on her jones hovercraft which should be an indicator for deepness because that thing floats bigtime.
It's a war of the mind and we're armed to the teeth.
