Pattern is more east prone thus time.
Eastern Switzerland is still hanging in there. But barely. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out arlberg and east. Will see more clearly on Tuesday.

    Saturday, central Switzerland.
Finally made it above the fog at 2200m.
    Nice views, but quite cold!

Times flies.... not sure why it took that long for another post.
Keeping busy with work, family and dog.

Just to demonstrate how fast time goes by:
Our puppy (australian shepherd) in January 2022 in front of the Hausstock (Glarnerland):

    Praying for more snow.
Up high good turns were in order this past weekend, but below 1500m the base is still very thin.

As i feared: Swiss is getting downgraded. 10-50cm range until sat.
Arlberg has a 10-100cm range. East ist still in the 70-150 range.

And: nice pics. No snow. Hausstock looks terrible. In ordinary winters it always looks inviting.

Heh. That's what our mountains in Colorado look like normally... even in a good year.

Where in the Pyrenees are u heading to? I was in Baqueira this weekend (yesterday was best day of the season so far... not difficult though as it's been subpar since opening day), but the Pyrenees are very diverse and right now some places look great while others... not so much. Right now we have a week of high pressures, sun and stable weather ahead of us.

Well I'd like to come down. But only if it's good. The alps have been rather bad too.

    And @skredshtless:
Well that's not the base. That's the range of fresh snow that might come this week.

And in the east the 2m until sunday are not off the table.

Then, even more so than for the Alps, I hope you have very good short time decision-making skills and lots of local beta as the weather, snow base, snow quality, etc etc can change dramatically from one valley to the next.

the eastern shift continues in the 6z runs. everything west of innsbruck is still a gamble. it should see some snow, but not as much as to turn the season around. East of salzburg is still on track for a proper season "start".

the snowfall might actually go all the way into next week. not for me as a weekend warrior, but everyone else should think about it.

powderguide.com alert will come out tonight until sat because in the east it will basically snow 4 days.

Still looks like a "dump" for Davos by my admittedly low standards coming from a polar desert...

was really hoping for different news here... Had to stick to the slopes with my girlfriend this weekend but actually backcountry as looked more tempting in other seasons. Davos is very low tide indeed.

Took a day off work today..... was worth it.
Northerly aspects still holding nice freshies.
Even though the base is obviously a bit thin..... and the top parts had some winds.
But all in all a good outing.

    Here we go again:
If you can go far east. Anything in the Salzburg area and further east is going to be all time. I'll probly head over for the weekend.

It'll be massive.... and more Monday Tuesday.
Use translate for all the fun..

And it's going to be cold like coldest of the winter cold. I'd not necessarily go to cham. 🥶🥶

    Pic:
Although our Model is a bit optimistic in eastern Switzerland and the arlberg. I'll not convinced there will be that much in my neighborhood.
