There's a lot more terrain in ischgl and Sölden than axams and Nordkette. Higher altitudes make them a safer bet too. Basing in Innsbruck gives access to a couple of smaller resorts plus Stubaier Glacier and you have the city. Paznaun Valley has kappl, ischgl and galtür, Sölden has Obergurgl and Vent (for touring). Ischgl is a pain to stay at tho, expensive and full on apre ski scene, I'd give it a miss and base in Kappl or Galtür.

We seem to be locked in for a dry spell. Best bet will be to stay high and enjoy the sun. Use the skins if your bringing them.
If you find yourself coming to western CH (Vaud & Valais) give a shout out and we can link up. I'm a weekend warrior but get out midweek from time to time.

The new model run has a light at the end of the tunnel.
10 days out it can still be a train though.

Looks like parts of Austria may get 30cm Sat/Sun so we're headed that way. Staying in Feldkirch and likely skiing Damuls and Silvretta Montafon Fri/Sat and then either doing St. Anton or further east (Fieberbrunn) Sun-Tues.
Send me a PM if anyone will be in the region, would love to meet up and/or split a guide a few more days for the Sunday-Tuesday period.

arlberg has a lot of nice options to ski. with guide or with out.
steep chutes down schindlergrat. get blasted and skied heavily.
or the nice long run from albonagrat to langen ( just follow the tracks on albonagrat to the west)
take the taxi(20e) back to the lift and not wait 45min for the public bus.
there is nice runs from rendl to the hinteres rendl

Any opinions on whether we should try Obertauern or Fieberbrunn the next few days?
Both seem to be getting about the same amount of snow. Obertauern claims a much bigger base. Fieberbrunn seems to have better terrain (but not sure if that’s in play with the current base).

Weekend delivered a lot more than expected here.
Somehow Nordkette picked up a good 40cms from the forecast dusting. Of course it was schralped to the ice below after one run (heavy bombing before it opened too), but the first run was pretty nice for a Sunday morning.
Buddy claims it:
Then we switched location for the afternoon. Again, better than expected (we weren't expecting much)!
Yesterday wasn't too bad either (old windbuffed powder interspersed with hard crusts on the non-flat bits)
