Just a super big thanks to keksie (he's a monster when breaking trail), freak (great organization) and klar (best taxi driver ever) for the great tour on Sunday. I'll have some more pics later. Too bad that the Föhn has turned everything to shit in the past few days.

In the meantime, here's another example of having an awesome time when hanging out with people you only met on the internet ...

I disagree. Yesterday, chez moi, it was a nice day with 15 cm of fresh snow, slightly irregular but pretty well skiable and a ground a bit like sugar on a base compact like beton. Nice offpist skiing, complessively - between 2.300 and 1.100 m!

I've got plans to hit the alps with a friend from monday - thursday. Inside info on conditions and/ or tagging up for riding together is appreciated.

What is it with these father in laws???

Mine was rushed to the hospital after collapsing 4wks ago, then again about 10days ago. First its a brain thing, then a heart problem but in the end cant find anything wrong. Het gets dismissed yesterday or the day before and had 10 (little) heart failures yesterday... morning! At last he gets hospitalized again, hooked up to a heart monitor... again. And all of a sudden he is a high priority case. He got a pacemaker this afternoon. Hopefully things settle down now here.

    Hope yours recovers asap.

Gonna hit the slopes somewhere tomorrow. Haven't decided on locations yet - day trip from Nyon area - so France & Valais are equal options. Anyone have any beta on fresh snowfall?

Verbier seems to have gotten the most according to a certain forecast website, but I'm not looking forward to the Xmas crowds there

    Suggestions?

Where are you looking dude?!?

Either go to Chamonix (Aiguilles Rouges = Brevent/La Flegere) or to Portes du Soleil, somewhere. Grossomodo, all Haute Savoie between Mt-Blanc and Lac Leman during the last 10 days got a lot of snow. Ovronnaz will be better than Verbier as well!

If you don't mind to travel a bit you could go to Crevacol (or La Fouly) - and for sure you won't have big queues.

    Good luck!

Cheers m8. The pacemaker is making a HUGE difference. He's back at home and out of the 'danger zone'. Hope yours is doing better as well.

PS Heading down to the alps tomorrow

Forecast is dry looking. Got a good dump here in the last few days but unfortunately no skis yet (UPS man refused to deliver at scheduled time). So I missed all the powder. Everything high up is blasted, but lower down we scored about 40cm on an insufficient base. High alpine must be slabby. I can't wait to get out there and have a look around.
