I'm in Arolla from Apr 13 to 20 if anyone's in the neighborhood and wants to ski/drink.

Closing day in St Anton today. Absolute ghost town - maybe 20 people on the hill tops. If only it was like that more often... Snowing down to the village by the time we left too.

Nice! Tore a ligament in my foot couple of weeks ago, so season ended earlier than I hoped. Last couple of days must have been nice up high. if I could, I'd poke around stubai or Hintertux tomorrow.

    Meanwhile in Wales

    SATURDAY 04 MAY 2019

MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU

Day 4 sliding in the Brecon Beacons for winter 2018/19

An unexpected bonus for the 2018/19 Welsh Winter Season for Christian and me this morning.

Christian's 15th Beacons ski, my fourth on 'Star Wars Day' May the 4th!!!

We set off from Pont ar Daf at 4.30am to a snow free Central Beacons Massif but by the time we reached Bwlch Duwynt the heavens started to release their goodness and within an hour there was 2-5cm of snow settled and ready to be skied.

A couple of laps off Pen-y-Fan down towards the Neuadd reservoirs followed by a shot off the corner of Corn Du.

We managed to get a fair way back to the car park before the sun had melted it all away.

This was only the second time I've been able to ski in May in the two decades I've beeing skiing the Beacons.

    A rare treat.

On our return to Pont ar Daf we were met by 3 Imperial Stormtroopers from @team_SWG who are raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust (#teenagecancertrust).

They'll be back in the Beacons on Sunday 26 May 2019 at 10am to walk to the summit of Pen-y-Fan in full regalia.

    Well done boys.

    Chris

    Yours truly

Today was a good day, if a bit slidey... Saw a guy walk away from getting swept 150m down the mountain (and he had to walk down as both skis got lost in the avy).
