Zinal does not have a base yet. This storm brings much less than anticipated. France should see most. But I have no idea about the base there.

the whole alps are basically on piste or very high and careful glacier skiing right now.,
with 30-50cm more engelberg could actually be skiable on monday /tuesday.

Anyone going to be in French alps post Christmas? Will be in Val from 29th to the 5th. Will have car and looking to make the rounds.

Weather wise from their IG page it looks like it's nuking there right now so that's nice....

Verbier skied fairly well this weekend for early December. Yesterday was descent light in the morning that gave way to heavy snow in the afternoon. It was also “Santa Day” which gave you a train ticket plus lift ticket for five bucks if you showed up in your St. Nick regalia. The on hill and off hill delivered with plenty of folks offering their Yule log to unsuspecting lasses. Fortunately, that kept Marcus Fitzgerald von Patten off the hill as the whole “consent” thing is a bit too low brow for him. It was all snow down to the village and by last night the rain in Le Chable and surrounding villages within five minutes transitioned to snow for what made for a lovely wake up.

This morning saw lovely snow and a four year old’s first powder day of the season. The soup was thick and gray but the snow was soft and base is filling in nicely albeit slowly. The afternoon saw Marcus Fitz and gang emerge with a group of conquistadors from Barcelona who came out with both Le Rouge hats and a case of the clap picked up from Lumi.

Someone turned on the light switch for some sweet chowda chop and even the occasional powder turn. Looks are deceiving as one such friend ventured a bit too far off into shark fin territory whereby he was welcomed with a non-consensual face shot. Marcus Fitz was envious.

The light didn’t last but a fine weekend had by all…

I mentioned in the YurpGrumble thread that I'll be at vendul's place through the morning of March 17th, then plan to head via train/bus to the Dolomitti. Hope to spend about a week in Alta Badia and/or Val di Fassa, then heading back to Zurich by the 24th. I could possibly stop for a day or so in the Alberg or Innsbruck on the way to/from.

Should I prebook lodging and transport in Italy, or if you were in my situation would you play it entirely by ear and just storm chase after teh TRG Yurp get-together? I mean, I don’t have to go to the Dolomitti if the conditions suck there (and are far better elsewhere), but I’ve always wanted to ski that part of the world.

I’m pretty sure I know what subtle plague’s take on this would be (fuggit, just storm chase), but I worry about paying through the nose or not finding a place if I wait until the last minute.

I’m used to having my travel shiz set up ahead of time, but I can be flexible, just so long as I don’t end up wandering the streets of some town, dragging my gear around, with nowhere to stay that isn’t exorbitantly expensive.

I’m looking to do a sensible budget overall, and don’t mind doing the hostel thing, but am getting old enough that I prefer my own room rather than some dorm with a dozen snoring dudes who haven’t washed for days.

I’ll prolly be on my own, unless any mags wanna team up and/or just meet up along the way for turns and beers.

    Thoughts?

Hey now... I'm a settled family man and do not always endorse the storm chase.

You should be between seasons as Easter is really late this year so wouldn't book in advance.

Baz has had it rough in Poland; apparently those mystery shots in the champagne room in Warsaw contained Rohypnol. He woke up violated in multiple ways, perhaps worst of all without the Black Amex. Nevertheless, he continued going back to the same strip club four more times up until Agneska wanted to get her MBA, “make baby in America.” It was time to find a new place after that.

Good old BAZ always brings a smile to my face. Have you heard the story where he earned the "the" during a yachting trip through the Britsh Carribean? Classic I tell you. And yes it involves coke, the lads and a few local prostitutes riding sea turtles on John van Dyke.

Yep, heard about it. Because at the very same time, his wife took advantage of me. I call it a win-win-win situation...

I haven’t heard that one but did hear about the time he almost got arrested leaving the “Ali Pali” hotel with three Philippinas and a bottle of Johnnie Walker Green in Abu Dhabi.

Lower elevations opened up today. Coverage surprisingly good for how little snow there is. Fast, hard groomers with lots of terrain surprises in em. Pray for snow!!

That story isn't completely true if we're talking about Agnieszka AKA Aggi, she's my sister in law.
Baz doesn't have a black Amex he uses a Coutts card and actually paid for the cnc play scene(consensual non consensual in the BDSM world). When the coutts bank called
    https://lava-club.pl/pl/i/O-Klubie/16
(well worth a visit if you're in the area) regarding large transactions. The Baz claimed rape and wanted the bank to claim back the money. Donald Tusk has now banned him from the Republic of Poland. It was dreadful for our family with the rape case hanging over our heads.

today turned outreally amazing. It was supposed to be a famiy weekend but 30+ over night (the only spot in switz ) without wind and a family lunch break turned into a one 1200m deep (above 2600m ven bottomless at times) round and i got my first faceshots of the season .....with base to the bottom lift no less. Sleeper day! still i found some sharks because all ridges had only the 30+ of fluff with nothing underneath.

What's the problem exactly? Can't seem to find anything online in English and the Instagram translate function doesn't seem to work.
