And when you need a break from hiking...

Borrowed the Insta360 of a mate and it’s a doddle to use. Impressed!

Fuck yeah Bobinch, way to get after it!
Cold front rolled in ~1 hour ago and it started raining right on schedule here. Just have to wait to see if the predicted percip levels are also spot on this evening, somehow managed to get tomorrow off again!

Harvesting the dust on crust on a B52 / Firebowl backside Mont Fort variant. Spoons out for a final season outing. Perfect for those steep no fall zone sideslips 🤩

Anyone have intel on seasonal rentals/shares for next winter? Moving from Colorado to Amsterdam and trying to figure out how I'm going to have a decent ski season. Not even sure where to look. Thanks!
Everybody's gotta have parkas. I'm talking custom parkas. Two words: "client development." They see all of you out there cutting the powder in your matching Schweikart & Cokely parkas, you'll make an impression. You will thank me later.

since you have to drive 5-6hours minimum, just follow the snow and dont get an appartement. It really doesnt matter whether it's 6 or 8 hours to the goods. Those 2h more can vastly imporve your ski season if we get a southern winter. Day tickets and bed and breakfasts are not as expensive as in A$pen. Edit: If you drive late or early, the German Autobahn can get you to the alps faster, so never choose to drive through Belgium/France just be sure to make sure your cruising speed is at about 180kph. Otherwise you have to be on the right lane

And be sure to ski at least one day in the Sauerland! It was full of dutch weekend skiers shredding the 150m vertical when i was a kid.

What subtle said, just follow the snow. Driving distances to the french alps is 1-2 hrs longer than swiss or austrian alps. I'd just go with the flow esp as i think for most people living in the u.s. that's not much of a drive?

Tuesday was 20cm on absolute granite. Looked like winter again though

if you move to amsterdam for a year.... think about renting a houseboat to live on.....!!!! if you don't have kids with you.... (risk of drowning in the canal) this should be the best amsterdam experience you can get : )

the area around westerkerk/anne frank house is the most beautiful... i am 100% sure this is also the most expensive area....

    today NE still tits

no need to drive so far... amsterdam has excellent skiing right in town.

and some bigger mountains just outside of town. right on a bus stop, which is nice.

Ha thanks for the beta on skiing in the lowlands. This is probably a stupid question, but what about stashing a car with skis in it in Zurich or something and taking $100 flights from AMS?

Sure if you have that much Money for parking (free parking does nor exist in zh), you can fly and stay at the Chedi in andermatt.
Just drive. A bit hard for the weekend, but doable. Or fly and use trains and busses. Gets you everywhere in ch.
Edit: and this is the closest skiing in the sauerland. Do it at least once for hilarity.
