Wish I would have had my tripod with me, though. Holding the camera with the 70-200 on and keeping it steady is no easy chore! I'm still going through and flagging and deleting stuff. It's going to be a while before I have this set done.

Couple of friends started their season around 25th of September in Lyngen, Norway.
Glacier pow from 1400m to around 600-700m. Not bad!
Look here for exampe (it is in Finnish but pics are quite noice):
http://www.vapaalasku.com/index.jsp?pid=175&id=87"Average summit heights are around 1000m to 1200m but on the high glaciers of the main Lyngen Peninsula there are summits over 1400m with Jiehkkevarri being the highest at 1834m above sea level."

Hey guys,
Not to derail the thread direction..i'll try and get some snow pics from innsbruck this weekend to keep it up..however,
I moved over here 6 months ago to Friedrichshafen DE and will be here for the next two years for work..looking to get plugged in with a group of guys going touring/freeriding/mountaineering in Der Schweiz, Austria, France, Italy, basically within my radius for a weekend drive..I have limited experience ski touring, but can ski well, have endurance, and want to learn..anybody out there willing to teach me some routes etc in exchange for a couple beers at the nearest hut while out?
Anyways, back to the snow reports, only reason I posted here was this thread is about 1000 times more active than the hookup forum..
Thanks!
Gus

Nice work Teo! Low angle pow turns way better than no pow turns.
Just ski down there and jump off something for crying out loud!

After losing one of his beloved Dynastar Big Trouble including Fritschi Freeride in a small avalanche late last winter (bad decision, don't ask) my brother is in the market for a cheap touring setup.
Does anyone have suggestions for
1) buying a NEW touring setup online with delivery either to Austria or the UK
2) buying a USED setup with delivery either to Austria or the UK
Or, ideally, if you have a spare Dynastar Big Trouble in 186 ....

what is your brother's BSL? i have a pair of 188 nordica beasts 92TTs which are almost exactly the same dims as the big troubles, mounted with XL (325-365) white freerides, plus skins. i used them twice in the last 2 years for a short skin up glacier3000. i think the bases are near perfect. PM me if interested.

nuyz125 - irbis and I plan to hit St Anton a couple times this winter, coming from Benelux. We have a limited knowledge of the place but if you want to hook up, great. It's an hour and a half drive from Friedrichshafen.
You really need to stop knowing WTF you're talking about. (Tippster)

Couldn't tell anything about you by your profile. You're on the Bodensee? I know some guys down there. I may not be much help, but I do have some connections with some ski clubs and ski patrol guys. Probably could hook you up with some if you're interested. I'd love to join, but I'm kind of on injured reserve right now. Where are you from? What are you doing down there? You don't have to answer, I'm just interested. That's a NICE place to spend a couple of years!
I'm an Ami from Oregon who's traveled a bit. Done my fair share of skiing around the world. I now live between Nurnberg and Regensburg - a bit far from the mountains for me, but the pay is good. Can't wait to get back to my place in Alaska soon!
