Everything in La Grave is pretty much in. You can ski all the way to the village, Freaux is getting skied etc. I'll be here until the 15th.

Accident report from recent fatal slide at Pitztal. Trauma related death, person got carried over cliffs. Spooky picture of torn off airbag wing in the debris.

They are usually used in the mtn survival line where you can eat your Ski boots if you're stuck on an ak glacier for 12 days. It seems I got an early prototype which was especially delicious

That was a Finnish rider aged 27. Maybe an exchange student from IBK? Though a bit old for that.. Not that it matters though, sad anyway.

Yeah I saw that, the whole group was finnish I think. I don't know anything else about them, not up to date on the current crop of finnish exchange students. That area now gets skied a lot more and a lot more quickly than it did when we first started exploring there. That year when you and I "discovered" it, there seemed to belike five other people who'd occasionally ski it. I haven't been in a long time because it's pretty much impossible to wait for the kind of conditions I'd want and not ski a bump run. There was a similar fatality a couple of years ago on the NE side where one guy set off a (much smaller) slide that took out his friend waiting below him and carried him over some cliffs.

On a brighter note, some stuff skied pretty well the last couple of days. Didn't even get any core shots, just some minor scratches.

No worries - I have a mid-20s Finnish friend who recently moved to Munich from IBK, so was worried he might have been involved, but luckily not.

Tignes avalanche looks horrific...

We had some nice turns in the Kalkkögel on Sunday, but turned around about half way up 'the main' slope. Snow is crazy shallow...
