Autumn fieldwork in the Silvretta. Half a meter of new snow up high.

Skis useful to move on glaciers.

skied everything roped up though because of abundant opportunities to fall in holes.

Stubai Glacier was surprisingly good today, some nice cream-cheese style windbuff off the pistes. Here's (a crappy quality screenshot of) my mate Andy slashing a nice turn:

I wish I had skis on the Jamtalferner on Weds. Got some flatlanders over it, lots of probing and post holing though.

no, it was really good actually, hardly any walking in circles around holes. at that point we were navigating by gps in a whiteout looking for our stakes and were glad to have the track to come back to.

In one more year I will organize a micro-ispo (or, if you prefer, a boutique ispo) in milan. The name is mountain in the city, and will be a show/award/film festival were every maggot's contribution is encouraged and mostly welcome. Stay tuned and please send me your suggestions...

    Best of luck V61!!

1st suggestion not Milan. Bring some commerce/euros to another place in IT. If this is about "micro" it just does not fit that mold.

Understand your suggestion, thanks, but we're very close to a very good deal that would allow us to keep the costs to the minimum... Finger crossed

Ischgl, Sölden got almost half a meter since yesterday, today semi bluebird, cams are looking mouth-watering good Where is everyone gonna be this season? Same area(s) or is anyone switching it up? I may end up back in Montafon if things continue the way they are now. Anyone gonna be in the area (arlberg/rheintal)? Here's to another stoke-filled season!

Right now I'm close to mt bakerfor another two weeks, but I'll be prowling the swiss and west Austrian waters again this year. Well I might go to France or Italy if it snows there. You know how I roll. Sadly no Ak trip for me this year. I demand early easter holidays and a pay raise!
