Aww...damn,that could work perfectly!!! What was the carrier and did if fly from malpensa or bergamo? And around what prices were the return tickets?
The lousy part is that I know my exact working schedules only in about a week in advance,so reserving the tickets will be a last minute deal...
And it would be intresting if you hop would be around as well! Some skiing in gressoney or dolomitis afterwards?

three carriers from milan (malpensa or linate) to catania: alitalia (uh...), easyjet and meridiana. All of them quite cheap. Not sure about bergamo/orio to catania, have to check it out

Arriving to malpensa so that is groovy. And I take that the best is easyjet or meridiana..?
Have you any idea witch one is more secure for bulky baggage (or doesnt have some dumb restrictions or something?). Would probably try to get the luggage checked straight to catania,if that would be possible..
Mmm...

easyjet is from malpensa, meridiana only from linate. Alitalia serves catania from malpensa or linate.
easyjet states that they handle skis, with a 50 euro supplement (which moves the cost slightly higher than meridiana and alitalia, maybe 220 euro instead than 200 for the round trip). Alitalia says nothing on their web sites, and it would be better to check it out by phone or whatever because I've heard bad stories about alitalia and ski shipping. Really dunno how safely easyjet or alitalia handle skis once accepted for shipping, but they should have an insurance.... anyway friends also told me not to bring your best or most fragile skis to etna, they can hit lava stones and the bottom/edges won't like them

schnappi is gay. why?
just because i hit the wrong spot today.
schnappi > subtle.
just to clarify: i couldn't have made it to schnapis spot which, i presume, is not within my "start 11am" drinving range. so my incompetence is not as big as one might assume. It's a war of the mind and we're armed to the teeth.

03-06-2009, 02:35 PM #6037Some impressions from Slovakia last weekend
Thanks. Pretty cool.
Would you believe that in 2003 people laughed at "fat" skis (around 90mm middle) there?
But I guess nowadays even in Slovakia everything get tracked out quite fast?"Average summit heights are around 1000m to 1200m but on the high glaciers of the main Lyngen Peninsula there are summits over 1400m with Jiehkkevarri being the highest at 1834m above sea level."

Arrived in Andermatt from Colorado on Wednesday to heavy snow. It didn't stop until this morning The Gemstock finally opened and it was worth the wait.
