Sounds likely. Rest, fluids, isolate and keep an eye on one another, and everyone likely will be fine. Keep us posted and get well.

i dont feel that bad just groggy. Under normal circumstances if i knew it was seasonal flu id be out and about but if i do have it i dont want to cross contaminate anyone who's vulnerable to the full effects of it

You're in UK? You're supposed to get it, right? Herd protection strategy. Personally, I would like to get it and get it out of the way. But asthma is not good, take care of yourself and family.

Just got word an aussie friend has it. That's about it for now.

An update from (now) rural Switzerland...

The local GPs made headlines by calling for Verbier to be put into quarantine as there are so many cases here. However, the decision has not been made as there is no one with the authority to make it.

The Community Facebook group is now full of polls asking people if they ve had it. To no one's surprise, almost everyone is saying yes. My drama queen housemates somehow persuaded the GP to test them and have all come back positive - 2 of them are totally asymptomatic. I remain convinced that I had it two weeks ago. Anecdotal evidence from Iceland, where they tested the whole population, suggests that as much as 50% of people do not show symptoms.

The problem is not solved by a quarantine of Verbier though, because it is a village designed to hold 35,000 visitors but now currently holds about 2000 permanent residents and some bored seasonaires. Therefore we have 3 relatively big supermarkets - all of which have enforced entry numbers, have hand sanitiser at the door and lines on the floor to stop people queuing to close together. Nothing else is open. This pretty much matches the 'lockdown rules' in Spain. We can go out for walks, bike rides and ski touring and most people are careful to do so well within themselves and to keep their distance from each other.

The problem, as in Cornwall (my heart and my home) is stopping people coming to visit their second home. Unlike Cornwall however, as yet. Verbier is a flipping biohazard yet that still does not seem to deter people...

3 weeks after apparently snapping my ACL (reconstruction was supposed to be today but has, obvs, been cancelled) and I reckon I'm going to walk up to the top of the baby slope and see if I can ski now...)

Skied the two peaks in the background yesterday. Timming was bad, coldish winds, and wrong aspects. The panino on the dam was fantastic.Click image for larger version.

We're now on lock down in the UK(well sort of if BoZo could give a straight forward answer).
I supply carpenters to national house builders, some of which have closed down, some are carrying on like Italy and Spain dont have an issue.
Fortunately we're allowed out to exercise, the weather is great and MTB trails are running the best they've ran since last August.

@ddraver: keep us updated on your roomies who are asymptomatic. I'll be curious to know if their test just preceded the emergence of symptoms or if they never develop any.

    @Nordkette: keep it coming.

I would guess 1 preceded, 1 after, 1 never showed any. The former guy though is basically just a bit run down and has lost taste and smell.

I've been a bit down this week and had a funny taste in my mouth. Feel like I can't frink enough water. But nothing too bad, still been getting out on my lonely walks as they re the only way I can prehab the knee now

Short tour up to the first lift station and back down today sans ACL. Weird what I'm scared of now though...

However, it's nice to remember that even when it's shite I still like skiing

It's allowed, with the proviso that if you get in to trouble you're on your own. From what I can see everyone is staying well within their limits and sticking to roads (covered in snow) and old pistes. I don't think anyone is doing anything epic any more.

FYI All ski resorts in Sweden appear to be still open, its just a question of how you get there

It’s strongly advised against. Guides have stopped in solidarity. Use deepl if you can’t read French
