Definitely not Zermatt. And not andermatt either. Northern Stau if you want to stay in Switzerland.... like Engelberg. If you're not set on dwitz: Arlberg should be ok too.

If you want to be on the safe side go much further east.
Salzburger Land and Steiermark will be the sweet spots, yet again.

What is really sad is the amount of time I spend checking snow forecasts to see if they have improved.

Can't motivate my buddies to change their hotel bookings from Zermatt so stuck with whatever the Gods send us. Bergfex forecast now seems alarmingly over-confident!

It’s bare out there. Strange year, temps are good for snow but it doesn’t come.
I would say about the top third of my favorite local hill has enough coverage to venture off piste. The rest needs close to a meter!
Lets hope next week brings it!!

I love skiing the soft stuff, but my skinny skis have been a blast this year. Gives your skiing a lot to work on.

That being said I’m pretty damn stoked to get back in the coming pow!!

    For sure.

I meant my touring skis but I now have a set of boots that I can use with hire skis and I took a set of piste skis up to try and remember how to carve properly.

Probably the best 4 hours of skiing I've had for a long time in terms of technique. So much I've neglected skiing backcountry skis around the resort. I recommend it to anyone if it's been a while!

Yes on the skinny skis front. Blue skys and icy piste made for a great day to test the stockli line up. Had a blast in trench town.

Where would be the best place to be in the Alps to find good snow now? GF wants to travel for her upcoming birthday, but from what I've heard it's not been too great in general down there?

I saw a really nice set-up yesterday afternoon. I’ve been trying to come up with an explanation and have decided it is the strongest form of ski bumming I’ve seen in a long time and the owner of said set-up is a ripper:

Usually people split up skis to avoid having them stolen?
Look around and you might spot the matching Stockli on a nearby rack.
