Anything in the long range forecast? Fingers crossed.

It's certainly supposed to get colder. There is still good skiing up high. I doubt it will last. I've seen some bleeps on the ten day indicating some weather returning with colder temps. who the hell knows though.

The winter solstice was just 3 weeks ago. We will get our share. It looks like I might be spending the entire season in Slovakia. It should be below the freezing point on Thursday. The forecast I've been watching does not go any further. Will see.

Try one of these 350 lumens head lamps (€ € €) and light up the terrain for your entire posse of 5 as well! Scandis take note: Ideal for Arctic touring in January! Also, moderates seasonal affect disorder as an added bonus!
    How about this one?

Went to go ski NNE of courtes today (NNE face between 2800-3600 meters in Cham) but it looked shitty (friends skied it, they're still not back). Skied S facing couloir near argentiere glacier which was really good. Hiked back up to near col d'argentiere to ski nice S facing pow.

It was so hot, I don't know how the pow stayed good after yesterday.

The coverage above 2500 is pretty impressive though. Much better than last year. The courtes looked like it went clean all the way from the top, even in shitty snow (windboard). My nose was incinerated from the heat. I must douse it with pastis. Back to the books for a few days, maybe it will suck less by friday.

    Roeler, magnifique!

Verbier better than expected today above 2300m out of the sun. Some pics...

    Mt Fort backside

Packed powder in superbowl. Perfect on rockers

    Even better over in Catwalk

Mt Gele open. Banane looked a bit windblown

Found some better snow further round

    Too fast for the photographer

Great vid, I especially like the pillow lines at the beginning, but there was great POV there as well. I will look for your other vids. Thanks for posting.

Missed a perfect opportunity to ski that last section switch to the parking lot.

St Moritz looks like a lot of fun when there's powder to be had.

    Shiiit! Vibes!

The alps situation is looking damn grim. Within the next week only mid-austria seems to get 20-30cm of snow. The rest, almost nada.
Only weird spot is apennines, where the could be up to one metre within a week...

Outlook looks really dry at least untill 2nd-3rd. All the storms seem to head norther route (south norway) or south of alps (apennines/balkans)...

The floggings will continue until morale improves.

the italian low's position is not yet certain. so some models do let it snow.

but i wouldn't count on it.
