I am in with Ripz...mini at G3 AM (If I don't drink too much after the Escalade )
EDIT: From the G3 site:
Powder snow on Glacier 3000! The skilifts Dôme and Tsanfleuron as well as the chairlift Scex Rouge are in operation - en total 7 km ski runs. Beside the Snow Park with 3 lignes, rails and Big Mama offers fun to the freestylers. The opening of the ski run "Oldenpiste" is planned for Thursday, December 06. For more information about the current status of installations and ski runs: Infoline phone +41 (0)848 00 3000 ...translation..flat drags only open and not enough snow to ski off. Verbier would be a good bet, but no new snow either.... Mini at G3 next week after the storm looks like a plan though! I have Friday off and I bet the Combe will open too! WOOOHOOO!Last edited by geo039; 11-30-2007 at 09:37 AM.

some good snow amounts forecast for the coming week. Some weird warm spell Wednesday in the calm, probably warm enough to ruin the snow but not melt it. A good week for building the base I think.

What are the overnight reports?
Yes, temperatures seem to fluctuate this week. Snow forecats last night through to friday, with wednesday dry and super warm- seems like a bad day to ski (high avy heavy snow).
If thursday and friday can deviler (unlikely) then the weekend would be tits.

Well.. I thought I should post some news from the East, the European East, the season here kicked off very early, probably one of the earliest starts we've seen.. here are two random galleries from the befsa.com site, with lots of sweet shots from Vitosha and Rila mountains :

hayduke and i were in St anton til this morning. Majority lifts were open, only a few pistes shut due to lack of snow. lots of base snow but it was powder covered in sun melted crust. It was pretty warm over the weekend and there were quite a few slips on the main south facing slopes as well as large cracks right down to the grass. It did not inspire confidence and we avoided all the slopes on that aspect. North facing aspect slopes that were 1800m+ were in good shape and the snowpack was bonding nicely.
It was starting to snow hard when we left this morning and i would love to have stayed til later in the week. It did look like it was starting to get quite windy high up as we left though.Semper in Pulveris .... Only the depth varies

Anyone know where the sweet spots are shaping up?
If it looks as if there's going to be high pressure, I'll probably go and do some sunny ski touring at altitude. If it looks as if dump alert is on, all bets are off and storm chasing will commence."Nothing is funnier than Hitler." - Smokey McPole

roo - where u at? how long?
20cm at the base of leysin, not sure how much up top as it wasnt open. high winds shut most everything. hit 185kph nearby at moleson, 80kph at leysin. its gonna get warmer up to 3150m tonight, 2600m or so thursday night, so thats gonna fuct with the lower resorts, leysin included.
if i were free, i'd head to engelberg (has it opened yet?). otherwise there's got to be good skiing in verbier and the o' spot.
be careful out there, could be some dangerous avy conditions....
