And minus 300cm in the same valley.

Both times I assume avies are responsible.

The 174 minus the sudden "40cm in a minute" avie bump is still impressive.

Widespread 100cm in 24h. One day too early though.. I hope something stays closed.

The Engelberg station reached the sensor limit at 426cm.

Roads closed to the Stubai glacier due to avi danger, so we swung over to Kühtai. North side of the valley was really good, mellow meadow skipping laps knee to thigh deep with a handful of other people.

    LA PLAGNE/LES ARCS QUESTION

Just spent a week there with bluebird conditions, so no worry with all the high stuff as far as visibility. The week before I was in Val d'Isière/Tignes, and the weather generally sucked except for one day, and, visibility, as I feared, was awful. Found a few tree shots to have fun in, but there isn't much of that up there. La Plagne/Les Arcs, on the other hand, seem to have a lot of below tree line stuff to play in. Didn't bother going down there, because it was kinda mushy and scratchy, and well, why bother when you have that spectacular stuff on top. So, my question is, in a colder Jan./Feb time frame with good snow, is it fun down there on blowing days?

Yeah stubai yesterday was also super crusty at mid elevation. Up high, I reckon a website that shall remain unnamed must have posted up something. Otherwise the crowds can't be explained. Absolute shit show, after two cut in above me dumping their sluff on me and a third cutting me up mid turn on the same pitch, I bugged out.

Yes. La Plagne has some of the best tree skiing gin the are. Not as good as further south as it is firs rather than latches but still good fun. Top of the Arpette lift straight down toward the valley connects to a summer road that funnels back into the resort. Lots of different variations.

Excatcly. You can start from the Dos Rond lift too. Nice tree skiing there. Just do NOT go below the summer road. If you go mostly skiers right you end up at Plan Bois. Check the Geoportail map.
