So... whilst a couple of friends of mine were skiing the Brenva Spur on Mont Blanc, I was prancing around in lycra like a nancy...
If watching men's buttocks pulsating on a glacier with a soundtrack of some vintage rock 'n' roll is your idea of a good time, then this is without a doubt the video for you.
There's also some words about the outing in the link in my signature below, but if I'm honest, the video of my bum is the real treat today...Short stories about snow and rock, and pictures, too

looks actually kinda thin...
its average or a bit below. there will definitely be rather worthwhile skiing on groomers in hintertux for another couple of weeks, would probably still be possible to ski down to fernerhaus by the end of june. stubai closes june 28th (if they do not prolong the season) but has less snow and very few runs are/will still be open.

Freak - I think Stubai said July 3rd the other day. Haven't been up in a few weeks so I don't know what the snow's like though. Was fairly low tide even for this time of year.
OTOH hand the Ruetzbach (river that flows from the glacier) has been pumping!

Season Finale on the Clariden last Friday (June 5, 2015)
Early start at 4:30 to enjoy a nice sun set above the Klausenpass.
Climb from the pre-summit to the top.
Panorama to the south-west. Gross Duessi is the pyramid in the middle, the Bernese alps in the far right background.
Last few turns on the lower part. Looking almost like spring skiing inbounds, fun nonetheless.
Skis meet flowers at the Klausen pass.
Wishing everyone a nice summer!

I think probably not in Stubaital, but you could try http://winter.dieboerse.at in Innsbruck. The're in summer bike mode, but with some notice can probably help you out.
That's for Stubai; I have no idea about Tux/Zillertal.

Went to Stryn this weekend. Epic weather, some nice turns to be had and some really nice short tours ("SS Norway" and Store Baksiden/Nuken). Sorry for the crap phone pics, too much niceness to cope with a camera.
Friday morning view from Folven
PNyberg heading for "SS Norway"
Top of "SS Norway"
View back up, the line follows the rock in top center from right to left. Tons of slow-moving surface sluff, with a 5km/h river of snow following the rock face was interesting to watch.
Really terrible view down the valley.
Nuken/Store Baksiden:
View towards Nuken, top center.
Heading down, Nuken (1837m) on the left. We opted for a mellow route down on skiers right due to surface slides in the bowl, this turned out to be a mistake as we passed below, so next time will have to do for the optimal experience.
The rest of the way down is steep (about 40-45) and sustained down to the road at about 680m at Steinhusbrua.
Yay!
Waiting for a ride back up.simen@downskis.com DOWN SKIS

SiSt, noice!
Htux today was slushy moguls, but fun even with rentals. Summer skiing, you gotta love it.

Good work SiSt, nice to see there's still some good stuff around. Did I hear that Norway was getting dumps of over a metre back at the start of June? Sexy.
A girl I know went for a ski on Pollux last week, that looked pretty special too.
This time last year there was some pretty tempting skiing left all across the Chamonix valley, not just the usual stuff off the Midi (which people are still pounding occasionally), but also some stuff off the Grands Montets and even on the north side of the Aiguilles Rouges... this year, there's nothing. Not even slightly tempted to cart all the gear uphill for a hundred metres of gritty slush. Maybe next summer will see a true return to form.
For anyone interested, I went on a bit of a big jog last week, the Mont Blanc 80km, and I scribbled down a few thoughts about the event. Absolutely no skiing, obviously, but I did manage to squeeze in about 250m of creamy-dreamy glissade down from the Col de la Terrasse into Switzerland. Click the picture below for a rambling, shambling tale about buttocks, suffering, snow, and sick.

You're good with words, man. That's a really nice read. But how on earth do you decide to run something like this? Impossible...

Incredible! Great work.
Cheers. It started because I wanted to get fitter for ski mountaineering and for the approach hikes for rock climbing, ticking off four or five thousand metres of ascent with a lightweight running pack makes a thousand metres with skis or a trad rack seem a lot easier. It's actually a pretty fun way of seeing lots of mountains in a relatively short space of time, and it's a great method of getting to an area that you want to explore on skis or with ropes, so that you can have a good look with binoculars and a camera at the proper objectives.
Runners who do it as a sport in itself, though, are pretty strange characters, and I am still adamant in my belief that I do not rank amongst them. I run so that my skiing and climbing can benefit, I am not a runner so that I can go running.
I would like to know more, please! What is this toy?Short stories about snow and rock, and pictures, too
