Anything opening on Sunday? Verbier announced nothing this weekend so probably 28th. Glacier3000 showing closed. Surely someone will open a lift. Busting to test out new knee after missing last season... Not sure skinning up the local hill would be a sensible first outing

The wind and rain here last night was sideways. The saleve is plastered down to 400m. A few flakes in GE but kind of a mixed bag of sun, cloud, rain, etc. should be interesting to see where and how the snow landed

It was a bit ropey, but it had to be done. First one up Le Tour before the conga line started. Hardly turns but it was nice to see snow!

My tour was surprisingly fun. Found some 40cm spot in vorarlberg and barely hit anything underneath. The wet base is pretty supportive. Tomorrow again. Maybe somewhere higher but same area.

I shall be in Strasbourg on Saturday night if anyone is about and wishes to join me for an aperitif. It has been a few years. The last time I visited, there was an old whore who ran a fruit stand just on the German side of the river. I don't know how her whoring went, but you could buy a big sack of the sweetest and juiciest plums from her for 12 marks.

Hopefully she is still in the fruit business.

From the V4V Facebook page: She's here and it is our pleasure!! # wehavesnow #welovesnow
As promised, here is a small point of the situation of our ski area.
More than 70 inches of fresh snow fell to attelas, 40 cm to ruinettes and between 25 and 30 cm in station. The winds were tempêtueux these last few nights which led to the formation of snow storm on the top of the field!
The temperatures announced for the week to come are cold, which will allow us to work with the optimal way snowmaking on a good part of our tracks.
A point on the situation will be done this Tuesday in order to decide on the date of opening, which will take place either in the middle of week or for the weekend of 28 November.
Stay connected on our page Verbier 4Vallées to be the first to know.

Mike, can you offer a recommendation for resources or websites monitoring snow conditions in Wales? The girlfriend and I are driving through North Wales on December 23rd to the Holyhead-Dublin ferry, we'll have our skis with us because some of the mountains around Ireland are going to be off the hook this Christmas/New Year, but if there's decent snow in Wales we'll start the journey a few hours earlier with the hopes of a quick ski tour around Tryfan or somewhere.

    Cheers for any advice bud.

today was actually a really good day, surprisingly enough. 20-30cm of fluffy stuff on a soft 30cm base resulted in three laps of powdery fun. But you had to stay on the leeward side of things......

And those DOWN 110s may be the best touringski ever!

I basically flew up the hill and did the first 300m in less than 30min, during early season.(I must admit I was pretty amped on the conditions though). Altogether 850ish m vertical with 6 skin on/ skin off breaks and in 2 hours and 30min. I am as fit as last year during main season. nice.
